Hanako vs Haruto [Part 2]

"I win!" or she thought.

"He-hehe-hee-he…hahahahaha," Haruto tried to not laugh but failed in doing so.

"What is so funny!" she shouted, she had a confused look on her face.

According to her, all the odds were in her favor and she had turned the tables on Haruto.

"Sorry sorry, I just.hee-haha…didn't think that I'll go that smoothly," he said, still trying to not laugh.

"What do you mean?" Hanako asked loudly as she clenched her fist in anger.

"Ever heard of a term called 'UNO Reverse'?" he said.

"Huh?" was all that she said.

"Tenth-tier magic: [Gate's of no return]" said Haruto.

A paifang-type gate emerged from the ground behind Hanako with the sounds of bells ringing.

As she turned around four iron chains came from the pillars of the gate and tied Hanako's arms and legs. She tried her hardest to break the chains by punching, kicking, and trying to melt them with fire magic by it didn't work.

The chains pulled Hanako backward, the gate opened and a black portal was revealed, she was pulled back and was hanged between the side pillars of the gate by those chains.

—Kuhahh!

She coughed blood as hundreds of sharp bones which came out from the portal pierced her body. The chains glowed red in color.

She even tried casting a super-tier magic spell again but somehow it wasn't working.

"Super-tier spells won't work, those chains are sucking our mana and without enough mana, you can't cast them," said Haruto as he walked toward Hanako was hung at the gate.

"YOU BASTARD!" she cursed Haruto as hard as she could but it didn't affect him.

"Did you really think you could get away after killing my only friends!" said Haruto as he gave Hanako a death glare.

"I knew I can't kill you directly because of the 'condition' but I *can* keep you from using any spell or moving. Isn't that almost the same as being dead?" he said.

"This doesn't mean you won Haruto, you also can't stop me from taking my revenge!" she shouted.

"Revenge huh? The hero you think killed your father isn't in the Ronze kingdom—or not even anywhere else in the world. He is also DEAD," said Haruto, he was trying to explain the situation to Hanako.

"How? How do you know that I'm doing this to kill the hero?" she asked as a confused expression came on her face.

"Umm, I don't think that's important for you to know. But the truth is that when your father—the former demon lord went to meet the hero they both decided to kill each other to end the Great War. Understand? They both died back then, not just your father," he explained.

She didn't reply.

"DON'T TALK LIKE YOU KNOW MY FATHER MORE THAN ME!" she shouted.

"HOW SELF-CENTERED YOU CAN BE!" Haruto also shouted about her irrational behavior.

"Enough! You can't stop me anymore!" said Hanako.

"Limit Break!" she said and used the 'Limit Break' technique.

A huge amount of mana was suddenly added to her mana pool, it was her life force that was converted into mana by 'Limit Break'. Her body glowed along with her eyes, and the chains which were absorbing her mana cracked.

They were absorbing her mana but there was a limit on how much mana they can absorb. By using 'Limit Break' and increasing her mana pool she overloaded the chains causing them to crack.

—Crunch!

The chains broke and she was free now. After the breaking of chains, the gate disappeared as the spell was broken now.

"Ah, I knew it won't hold long," whispered Haruto.

"You will die now!" said Hanako as she dashed toward Haruto.

She grabbed him from his collar and flew into the sky. She released him and punched him in the stomach causing him to get thrown backward.

Haruto opened his wings and levitated in the air.

"Super-tier magic: [Reality Slash]" said Hanako and cast a super-tier spell.

A red energy sword appeared in her arms and she used it to slash the air in Haruto's direction.

A red slash was released in his direction, the attack cut through the very fabric of space leaving behind a black line as it traveled forward.

"This is it, you can't stop this!" said Hanako happily.

"Really?" he mumbled.

"Limit Break," said Haruto.

The sudden burst of power caused a shockwave of energy around Haruto as his body started glowing blue with his—now increased mana.

"Multi-dimensional Barrier – engage," said Haruto as a wall of blue and yellow energy formed in front of him.

The red slash which was launched by Hanako clashed with his multi-dimensional barrier. As they both collided, lightning bolts formed around with the sound of thunder.

The barrier shattered but the slash also ran out of energy and vanished.

"Impossible! Mortals can't use 'Limit Break' or they'll die!" said Hanako; she was now in a deep state of shock.

While it was true that if any Mortal used 'Limit Break' they will die because it turns one's life force into mana and mortals have a limited amount of their life force.

But limit break chooses one's life force because it's the only thing that can be changed in mana but that was different in Haruto's case. He already has his 98% power sealed inside him, what 'Limit Break' did was simply take a small amount of that sealed energy and tossed it in his mana pool instead of using his life force.

That was the reason he was not dead.

"Well well, I think I should end this now," said Haruto as he looked at Hanako.

He appeared just after Hanako and threw her to the ground; he then also landed at a distance.

"Tenth-tier magic: [White Nova]" he said, it was the final blow.

An orb of white energy appeared just above Hanako. Slowly the area around the orb started getting darker and darker. Soon the orb absorbed all the light present in the battlefield and it was a complete blackout.

—There was the sound of sizzling, as though someone had thrown a burning torch into water.

All of a sudden the orb expanded, it looked as though the sun had risen on the land, dying everything in his field of view a brilliant white.

The exothermic conflagration generated a rapidly-expanding wave of heat, which greedily consumed everything within its radius.

This hell of a vision lasted only five seconds, but it felt dozens of times longer than that.

Eventually, the brilliant white world disappeared. In the wake of the vanishing pulse of superhot energy was a large circular area — vastly different from before.

The area within the circular area was charred black, converted into a dead zone of jaw-dropping proportions.

Hanako was lying there, barely alive.

"You-you killed everyone?" she asked in her weak voice.
