A night out

Miren was currently utilizing the small desk in his room, a rare situation as he would usually sit on either the bed or the floor. The reason for this was the inspection of two beautiful weapons. A pair of purple daggers, contrasting each other with red and green engravings.

Currently, Miren was reading the floating text of mana above them.

[Blades of Storms: Khanda and Nandaka]

Description: Legendary daggers lost in time. Only answering to the ones containing the chaos of a storm. Are naturally adapted to being imbued with the lightning element to create streaks of lightning covering the blades. With the disposition of [Evolving], they adapt to the wielder's capacity.

Khanda: The shortsword of flames. The aggressive brother represents the fiery destruction of lightning. Unlocks its active ability when the wielder is worthy.

->Active ability [???]

Nandaka: The dirk of winds. The swift brother represents the sharp nimbleness of lightning. Unlocks its active ability when the wielder is worthy.

->Active ability [???]

Usage conditions: Lightning-affinity, rank VI speed or higher.

Inspecting the big and little brother in front of me, I was amazed.

'They are unbelievable. Not only lightning-elementally aligned, but also have active abilities?!'

Artifact weapons on their own weren't all that rare, as even beginner blacksmiths could produce them. What was rare was the fact that they were adapted to an element. Most weapons only had an imbued effect of 'sharpness', 'power', or the likes, most often corresponding to the weapon type.

A sword was more to have an enchantment of 'speed' than a hammer, which would instead likely have something like 'weight increase' or a power increase depending on the user's strength rank.

Elementally aligned weapons were rare, extremely rare. From the information I had gathered, by making some small trips to Johanna at the library, they could either only be crafted by a master craftsman or were planted, by some otherworldly force, into the deepest of dungeons.

Not to mention, the rarity of weapons reacting to dual elemental affinities.

Needless to say, the principal had casually gifted me something so amazing that I wouldn't be surprised if I got assassinated tomorrow. They were genuinely something to kill for.

I could feel some cold sweat running down my back. The two treasures in front of me were, most likely, worth more than my entire life! Not that the life of an orphan was worth all that much...

'How much would I get if I sell these? One million crowns? Ten million? Maybe even a billion if I auctioned them out...'

*Haaaa*

Calming myself by releasing my breath in a deep exhale, I refocused on the bundles of endless money in front of me.

'These honestly appear to be made for me though. How many people could even use these, with the requirement being a rank VI speed AND having the lightning attribute? Even if I can't make an accurate conjecture, I can only imagine there would not be many in the world.'

I scanned the flame-engraved shortsword. It gave the impression of being able to create massive damage, with its destructive design and weight. Relative to being a dagger at least.

Unlike its brother, this didn't seem to be a weapon to be used delicately, instead, it held the purpose of dealing stronger attacks.

Moving on to his nimble little brother, it was the complete opposite. Small and nimble, made to sneak by the opponent's defenses, as a means to create openings for its big brother. Tiny, but elegant.

While thinking about how I would use these in actual combat, I could suddenly feel my brain cooling down. Parallel to my inspection, my subconscious had also been spinning, coming to another conclusion that my conscious mind didn't think of.

A mind-numbing, chilling thought that reminded me, once again, that a part of me truly was in a different world.

These weren't weapons to defend myself, nor were they tools to protect my party or friends. These were a pair of brothers who only had one designated purpose.

To kill.

Standing on my own at the train station, I was currently waiting for James, Sarah, and Brad before our night out.

*Tap, tap, tap*

Nervous and awkward, I couldn't stop my foot from repeatedly tapping the ground. What had caused this the most, even though it was a product of multiple factors, was my current appearance.

After inspecting my newly acquired weapons, the time had already come for me to start making myself ready for my nightly adventure.

The only problem was that I didn't own any clothes. Except for my two uniforms, I only owned a few t-shirts, my black sweatsuit, as well as one pair of thrashed jeans. Even after trying my hardest, I was currently looking like a junior middle school student, trying too hard to look edgy. Wearing my slightly oversized hoodie and jeans, this being the only remotely reasonable option I had, I looked even younger than I usually would.

Despite this, I felt excited! This was the first time I would be going out enjoying the nightlife. This might even be my first time drinking ever.

"Yo Miren!"

To my right, James had arrived. Wearing a nice

white button-up, a sleek pair of black dress pants, and matching shoes, he looked like a model.

Watching James half-jogging towards me, looking like an absolute idol, my inferiority complex crept up a bit.

"So how do you think of going out tonight? I am really nervous, I don't even know if I can handle alcohol...Haha..."

While speaking awkwardly, James seemed quite nervous.

'Kids shouldn't get pressured into drinking after all.'

Attempting to repay a bit of the selflessness that the glowing man always seemed to show, I told him:

"I've never had a drink either. So I guess you can just see it as we trying it together.'

These words made his form relax a bit, maybe the thought that he wasn't alone in this made him feel a bit better.

"You haven't either? Haha, I guess we both are weirdos then. But I'm extremely excited for tonight. This is the first time I'm going out and doing it with my friends makes me really happy!"

'So he does consider me a friend then? Maybe it's because he is the future savior of mankind, but, even after just a few days, I think I also have some similar feelings towards him.'

As our gazes met, a bit more intensely than we intended to, we looked at each other with gentle smiles.

*Click*

Just as I was about to break the silence, by asking if he knew where the others were, we heard a clicking sound.

We both turned our heads, getting a view of the, usually, beautiful and seductive Sarah. In this case, though, we were met by a stupid-looking girl, wearing a huge grin, with a camera in her hands.

"What are you doing?"

I couldn't help but ask the delusional woman what she was doing, even if I knew that this picture would probably be stored as a part of her collection.

'Maybe she isn't that innocent after all.'

While thinking about what the purpose of the picture might be, I could feel my face reddening a bit.

"Oh nothing, I just like taking pictures to remember things. It's normal to want to have some memories immortalized, right?"

'Aren't you just a dog in heat?'

Stopping at just internally refuting her, I decided to try and not think about her ulterior motives. Partly, because it made me deeply uncomfortable thinking about me and James in that sort of relationship. The other reason? My teenage body couldn't handle the thought of her voluptuous form gazing at the picture and...

"Never mind..."

Because of my earlier internal conflict, I hadn't gotten a clear view of her until now. Slowly walking towards us, my eyes got a fill of her breathtaking form.

With a plunging white top, showing off a bit of her well-endowed chest, and a tight pair of black jeans, it was hard not to notice her, slightly jiggling curvy figure. An expensive-looking bag was hanging off her shoulder, and she wore a petite golden necklace around her neck.

Sexy, but elegant. Casual, but stylish. She seemed to be very experienced with clothing, as she wore a perfectly planned outfit. In my eyes though, she looked ready to go to battle.

'She probably hasn't let go of James after all.'

As she got closer, the man himself took the initiative.

"Woah! You look beautiful Sarah, seems like you are excited to go out tonight."

Even with this innocent reaction, with seemingly no hidden motives, Sarah blushed a bit.

"Thank you, James! But that means you are also eager to go to the city because you look super handsome in that shirt."

When they were complimenting each other's dressing senses, I felt even smaller than usual. Looking up at the two, much taller, supermodels in front of me, I tried to motivate myself.

'My face is also really handsome! A bit childish, but my face probably doesn't lose to James's. When I grow taller I will be the most handsome of all!'

Then they looked at me. Even with me and James talking for a bit earlier, it didn't look like he had taken note of my appearance.

Looking down at me, he had a complicated expression, most likely trying to find words to compliment me, as he had with Sarah.

Before he managed to find the words he was searching for, we both heard a small voice.

"So cute..."

Sarah wore the same face as she occasionally had during our first day. With her viewing me as a small animal, I felt my temperature rise a bit. Unlike earlier though, this wasn't because of hormones, it was because of slight irritation.

Thankfully, all of our reactions got deemed unnecessary, as the arrival of our last member attracted our focus.

With a navy blue suit, black dress shoes, and a huge bottle of red wine in his hand, Brad had arrived.
