" A new day, it's beautiful outside."

Johnathan exclaimed as he opened his windows to see the bright blue sky outside.

' Last night was... Different from what I'm used to. I've... never felt that way about someone before. It felt... Good."

Johnathan thought to himself as he got dressed for the morning. His focus was suddenly drawn by a sudden knocking at his door. Johnathan turned and walked towards the door opening it to the woman on the other side.

" Hey, Nori what's up?"

John asked.

" I was sent to get you by Moonstar. She wants to see you before the others."

Noriko said to the boy.

" Oh, cool I get to meet one of the new mutants."

John jumped in excitement.

" Alright! Alright! Calm down. Let's go before you accidentally jump out of the building."

Noriko joked as she pulled the boy from his room.

John followed Noriko to Dani's office watching as her hips swayed back and forth in her light blue cut off shorts.

" How are you feeling today, Nori? Your regulators working alright?"

John asked the girl.

" Hm? Oh, yeah. They're working just fine right now. Mr. Mccoy fixed them earlier."

Noriko replied to the boy as she showed off her gauntlet.

" Glad to hear it. I wouldn't want you to explode on me."

John's joke getting him a punch in the arm from Noriko.

" Ouch Nori, I was joking."

John said as he rubbed his arm.

Noriko laughed at the boy before opening the door to Danis office.

" Hello Dani, I brought him like you asked."

Noriko said to the woman as she walked into the office.

" Oh, hello! Johnathan, right? Nice to finally meet you. Scott and Noriko have told me much about you. And I must say you are a reckless buffoon."

Dani joked.

" I know right!"

John laughed in agreement.

" Forgive me, but seriously. It's nice to meet you. Originally, I had another student who was supposed to be the sixth member of my team. But Scott said you'd make a good replacement member should he choose not to return. But he didn't say what would happen if he were to return. So, we can cross that bridge when we get there. Do you have any questions?"

Dani asked the boy after her brief explanation.

" Yeah, what happened to the rest of the New Mutants? I was hoping to get a chance to meet the rest of them."

John asked the woman startling her.

" I'm sorry me and Xian are the only New mutants still here."

Dani explained to the boy.

" What? They didn't just give it up, did they?"

John asked the woman.

Dani frowned and shook her head no.

" I'm sorry to hear that. I was always a fan of the New Mutants. Wolfsbane, Magma, Sunspot, cannonball, magik, Karma, and you mirage."

John said to the shocked woman.

" You knew our names? Not many people did."

Dani replied.

" Well, I made sure to listen in on news from the Morlocks anytime we crossed paths with them. Calisto is surprisingly a really good conversationalist."

John explained to the woman.

" Well, I'm glad to hear you're such a fan of the new mutants seeing as how you're now one of us."

Danielle said to the boy, watching as his eyes lit up like stars.

" That is so cool!"

John exclaimed.

As the two women laughed at the young boy's excitement the rest of the would-be New Mutants arrived.

" Hey, Dani? We really need to talk to you."

David said as he and the others walked into the room.

" Good, because I just sent for all of you. Where were you?"

Dani asked.

" Oh, just losing a basket-ball game."

Josh explained sourly.

" Let it go, Josh. I don't know what you wanted to talk to us about, but I'm guessing it has to do with Monday's assembly."

David said to the woman.

" So, I'll just cut to the chase. Are we splitting up into squads?"

David asked.

" Are you being put onto squads? Yes. Are you being split up? No. Of course not. You're my kids. And I like being your advisor. I turned down being an X-Man to be here. They're not taking you from me. Don't worry."

Danielle explained to the group of kids.

" Well, good... But you know I didn't come here to train for life as an X-Man."

David said to the woman.

" Of course, I know that."

Danielle replied.

" Then I need to..."

David was saying before being cut off.

" David, do you trust me?"

Danielle asked.

" Yeah, absolutely."

David replied.

" Then know everything will be fine. Just wait until Monday's assembly."

Danielle said to the boy hoping to ease his frustration.

" Come here, I've got something to show you guys. This is the template for your new training costumes. Each of you will be allowed to customize it to your own taste."

Danielle explained as she pulled out the New Mutants Training attires.

Each student had a suit tailored just for them.

" Is that spandex? I am so not wearing tights."

Noriko stated bluntly.

" Oh, come on Nori. I bet you'd look great in tights."

John said to the girl.

Noriko raised her fist and slammed it down on top of Johns head.

" Ouch!"

John yelled as he rubbed the top of his head.

" Ow, are ya trying to kill me?"

John asked.

" Hm? I don't think I hit you hard enough."

Noriko replied.

" Oh, that's it! You really are trying to kill me, aren't you?"

John asked in pain.

" Hehehe!"

Danielle laughed at the two teens.

" You got to admit this is kind of exciting Nori. We get to wear costumes like the super heroes do."

Sofia exclaimed happily.

" But you're not superheroes. That's not what this is about. It's about teaching you to use your powers safely and being able to defend yourselves."

Danielle explained to the kids.

" Guess, that means I'm the best in the class already. I knew i was great!"

John exclaimed with his chest puffed out.

Noriko raised her fist and once again drilled John on his head in a repeat of earlier.

" Well... If I have to... Maybe I can put in a visor with a heads-up display, get information from the school computer..."

David explained his thoughts to the group.

" Yeah, and maybe a big kick me sign on your back would help with that geek image!"

Josh joked on David.

" Me? I'm thinking lose the sleeves, show off my arms."

Josh stated.

" That would look great Josh."

Laurie said encouraging Josh.

" Alright! You guys got a few days to figure it out. Until then I know you have things you want to do so you're free to go."

Danielle said releasing the students.

" Things to do. I'm so bored."

Noriko groaned.

" What am I supposed to do for the next few days?"

Noriko asked.

John smiled mischievously and wrapped his arm around Noriko's shoulders.

" Wanna fuck with Julian?"

John asked.

" I think that sounds therapeutic. Let's go."

Noriko replied with her own devilish grin.

The two quickly ran down the hall towards Johns room to plan their weekend assault on Julian.

" What monsters have we created?"

David asked.

" I don't know. But I think we should pray for Julians safety."

Sofia replied to the boy.

Over the next two days Noriko and John would pull numerous pranks on Julian. However, the one that stuck out the most, their evilest one yet, was replacing Julians shampoo with Pink hair dye.

" WHO THE FUCK DID THIS!!!!!"

Julian roared in anger as he ran out of his room

Noriko and Johnathan who had been nearby ran out of the institute as fast as they could laughing at the boy, but not before taking photos.

" AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

Julian yelled in anger.

Unfortunately for Julian he would have to go to the Monday assembly with pink hair.

And just like that the days past and Monday arrived.

" And those are the members of my squad, the corsairs. Miss Frost will now introduce her squad."

Cyclops said to the students as he gestured for Emma to reveal her squad.

" Julian Keller. Codename: Hellion."

Emma said as she introduced Julian.

" More like the Pink Hellion. Digging the hair Jules!"

John yelled to the boy

Emma ignored the boy's jokes and telepathically ordered Julian to do the same.

" Cessily Kincaid. Codename: Mercury."

Emma introduced the metallic young lady.

" Santo Vacarro. Codename: Rockslide."

Emma introduced the rocky teen.

" Jay Gutherie. Codename: Icarus."

Emma introduced the new Gutherie sibling.

" Sooraya Qadir. Codename: Dust."

Emma introduced Noriko's roommate.

" Brian Cruz. Codename: Tag."

Emma introduced the last of her squad.

" And so, I give you my squad. The hellions."

Emma said as her squad stood tall.

" Next, Danielle Moonstar will introduce her squad."

Scott explained to the student body as Danielle and her students stepped forward.

" When I was a student here, I was a member of the team known as the New Mutants. We were the only students here. And we were like a family. Now there are more than a hundred of you. That's a great thing. But my kids are like a family, too. So, let me present to you David Alleyne. Codename: Prodigy."

Danielle explained introducing the young man.

" I kind of like that."

David whispered to the others.

" It fits."

Sofia replied.

" Sofia Mantega. Codename: Wind Dancer."

Danielle said introducing the young aeromancer.

" Laurie Collins. Codename: Wallflower."

Danielle introduced the youngest member of her team the fifteen-year-old Laurie.

" Huh... What do you think Josh?"

Laurie asked her crush.

" Who cares if they're good or bad? We've got codenames. We're the next generation of X-Men!"

Josh replied stupidly unaware of the woman's feelings.

" Josh Foley. Codename: Elixir."

Danielle introduced the young boy.

" Noriko Ashida. Codename: Surge."

Danielle introduced the blue-haired young woman.

" An absolutely awesome name for such an electrifying lady."

John whispered to the girl.

" Johnathan Storm. Codename: ION."

" An absolutely awesome name for such an electrifying man."

Noriko replied with a grin on her face.

" I proudly present my squad... The NEW MUTANTS!"

Danielle introduced her students new title to the rest of the school.

" Okay! So, when do we go on our first mission?"

Josh asked.
