The Rabbit, The Fairy, and The Statue - 2

Kafka: "Should we engage them?"

Crixcus: "That's up to you. Do you want to kill them?"

Kafka: "No not really."

Kafka climbs up the side of a dune and then leaps off towards Crixcus. Landing, next to him. The dust devil picks up the corpses and their belongings as it passes them. Crixcus casts his spell to entangle the dust devil and manages to grab up the debris inside the winds. The dust devil rolls up on Kafka and Crixcus. Kafka manages to keep her feet on the ground, as Crixcus gets lifted and flung 20 feet in a random direction, landing on his back. The remaining dead bodies get picked up and flung around, as the dust devil passes the party by. Pokey focuses her energy and fires three balls of force at the dust devil. One passes it by, while the other two get a direct hit, revealing a face inside the dust devil.

Pokey: "I think they are alive!"

Kafka: "Well no shit. I think you pissed them off."

Pokey: "No, I mean they have eyes and a mouth."

Crixcus: "Oh that's what you're talking about. I thought they were weird creatures. But I guess not."

Kafka: "So what, no one said it must be easy if we can kill it."

Crixcus gets up.

Crixcus: (Primordial) "What is your business here?"

Crixcus notices it can understand him and begins to communicate an attempted peaceful resolution.

Crixcus: (Primordial) "Would you mind and move on to another section of the desert? So we can move along unhindered."

Crixcus is hopeful the being would just pass by and then begins to plant his feet into the sand. His body begins to harden and change shape into a large tree. Kafka hops backward towards the large tree and waits on the course of action of the two dust devils. The two dust devils keep moving along. One changes direction slightly towards Pokey and keeps passing by, partially covering the obelisk. Then Pokey flies over to the what remains of the obelisk showing and begins studying it. Kafka walks over to the obelisk and helps Pokey understand the writing on the obelisk. They can notice yuan-ti would use the statue to pray to their god, take one of the highest-ranking members and transform them into a higher deity, which would change the individual into a five head being.

Pokey: "Interesting, you think the item they wanted us to find?"

Kafka: "I think so, I mean it looks important ish. Look at it. Looks very, you know, an important ish kinda thing."

Pokey: "I was wondering if they thought we should bring it back."

Crixcus walks over to the obelisk and begins to put a spark into the ground and give the area some new life to grow and flourish. Pokey and Kafka kick up their feet and wait on Crixcus's ritual to form a new oasis. As that would happen, Kafka summons her familiar owl for the company and to help take watch.

After eight hours pass, the sky begins to set. Crixcus finishes up his ritual and heads back to Ghostsummit. Two arrows fly through the air, hitting and killing the owl. The second arrow flies to hit Kafka as they cast a shield to block the arrow. Then hops on top of the dune and cast a lighting bolt in the direction the two arrows came from and hit the target. Then slides down the dune, taking cover. Two more arrows fly and hit the startled Kafka in her chest. Pokey flies up and peaks over the dune. In the direction of the creature. As Pokey peaked over, her body began to change and harden.

Pokey: "Goodbye, Tell the guild of assassins to cancel the contracts."

Kafka peaks over the dune and summons a shadow spawn behind the begging. Her feet begin to harden and change into a hard solution. The shadow lets out a cold chill and swipes twice, hitting the bing. Then Kafka tries to jump and looks down, noticing her feet aren't moving. The creature begins slithering across the sands heading in the party's direction. The shadow takes the opportunity and swipes and hits the bing. The creature turns around and fires two arrows back at the shadow. Passes, straight through the shadow. Kafka takes the opportunity and misty steps backward and has her shadow walk up the creature and tries to attack the bing with two swipes. One hits the creature, and the second hit himself. Kafka's feet begin to feel back to normal, and the bing continues towards the fairy. The shadow swipes and completely misses. Kafka notices the creature has a swarm of snakes as hair as the creature fires two arrows in her direction. Both went flying in her direction, Kafka cast a shield to block one of the arrows, and the second arrow landed a crippling blow, making Kafka stand on her last leg. Forces her to cast a dimension door in the direction of Ghostsummit for her to make it out alive. The shadow comes up behind the snake creature and kills it. The crazy part is that Kafka and Crixcus will make it out alive and well. Pokey gets to watch time pass her by. Hoping one day someone would find her and break the curse of this place.
