The party consisted of a Human monk and a Drow rogue. This is an encounter where the two players have been given a quest on figuring out why monstrosities keep going to a particular spot, but there are not as many coming back out. The human had hired this particular drow to figure out what was going on. The two players begin to go farther and farther into this cavern. They get to see as the cavern walls begin to open wider and wider roughly ten feet wide and ten feet tall. "More room to punch," the human said. "Oh my. I believe it should be a good time for me to do this." The drow waves her hands around and whispers something, a few lights dance around towards the front and behind the drow. So it doesn't blind her. Allowing the human to be able to see within fifteen feet of dim light. "And you decide to do this now instead of when we first entered?" The drow looks behind her and smiles at the human. "Well, I wanted to see people like you struggle. Keep up, otherwise, the lights will leave you behind." The female drow enters the cavern passageway moving twenty feet ahead of the human, taking slow cautious steps, finding a branching pathway to the right of her, and peers into it. The human lets her take the lead. The drow sees through a crack in the wall. A kind of crawl space with two lizard-looking humanoids. Which are very small, off in the distance of this crawlspace, and appear to be dead.

The Drow glances in there, then back over her shoulder at the human, and lets out a low whisper. "Well, I found two of them. They are not moving, they are down and dead. Maybe we can find whatever did it to them. But I don't think I can fit into that small hole. So keep going further up along." "I mean, I'm following you after all." The human whispers back. The female drow continues ahead, further into the cavern, leaving her dancing lights behind her, moving twenty-five feet deeper in, while the human hangs back only taking a five-foot step further in. The drow steps further in and can smell something rotten. The drow pauses to put a bandana over her nose because of the horrible smell as she frowns and ties the bandana in place. The drow pauses to listen ahead of the two of them and hears nothing. The drow creeps forward fifteen more feet while hugging the wall to the right of her. As she does, she can see another leg and tail that looks similar to the little bodies she had seen earlier in the crawlspace area ahead of her, also dead.

To her left, she sees another one, this time getting a better look at the whole body of the creature. The drow waves at the human and says softly. "Come on, stay close." She moves to her left ten feet and waits for the human to catch up to her. The human catches up to the drow, where he begins to smell something rotten. But it's not as bad to him as it is to the drow with the keen sense of smell she has. "Ugh. I smell something but it feels like my nose is quite stuffed… Oh well," the human says. The drow says, "It looks like there might be a full body over there." Begins to creep closer, twenty feet hugging a projection of a rock wall to her right, leaving her ten feet from this corpse. The human follows her, leaving a five-foot space between them. To her left spot, another lizard-looking person was also dead around the corner. "Watch my back." She heads left again, moving ten feet and moving closer to the one she had spotted and kneeling to begin to investigate the body.

As she does, the human man follows her and covers her back. She spots holes poked here and there across the body and chew marks on it like limbs are missing, and the guts are out and exposed. She sees a pick and a translucent green gem. "Oooh neat!" She says as she picks up the gem with a gloved hand. "What is this shit?" The human exclaims as the drow inspects the gem closely as the two of them start to understand why the creatures are going inside. "They're mining. Hmmm." She bends down, picks up the pickaxe, and hands it to the human. "Here, you might use this." The drow moves ten feet over to inspect the other corpse, while the human steps forward ten feet and stays vigilant. The drow inspects it, appearing to be another rotten corpse having been gnawed on over time. "Whatever it was that came after these things, ate them." "Not our issue, they were stragglers?" The drow moves ten feet to another branching tunnel path and looks to the left seeing two more dead bodies in a corner. "Looks like there are two more over there." The drow steps forward to the right ten feet and pauses to listen. While the human follows, keeping five feet between the two of them. The drow hears nothing, other than the wind blowing into the cavern from the entrance, and her friend walking behind her. "Hmmm, I can't help but feel like something is off." The drow steps forward ten feet and turns to her left spotting another rotten corpse that has been gnawed upon. "I think it's time to start casing," the human says. The drow looks up at the ceiling of the cave and notices that it changes in height many times here, some places it's ten feet others, twenty feet that have been mined upon. This is why most of the passages have been the same height, width, and further ahead. It leads to a dome-like crevice.
