Chapter-14

They had become a mage, Xu le and Xu Yi had finally become a mage.

Of course, it was only an apprentice magi, but nonetheless, they had finally become one.

They were excited, extremely excited, soon they would be able to control the natural elements just like their master.

"Now, listen very carefully to what I'm about to say because from this point on.....the way you look at the world will change"

Instantly snapping out of their dreams they looked at their master with an attentive gaze as he starts his first lecture.

"As I have said before mages much like cultivators are those, who defy the natural rules of the world like death, But between them, there is a fine line of difference that ultimately separates the two"

"For example, Mages unlike cultivators do not rely on Qi, the energy of nature to cultivate and execute their techniques, but instead rely on two types of energies"

The first energy is called Mana and is solely and exclusively produced by the soul world"

And since it flows out of the soul, this energy is also called the energy of the soul, or soul energy in other words"

"This is the energy we used to cast spells like the one you've seen before"

Xu Le and Xu Yi nodded continuously as they heard this, They weren't surprised at all, after all, it was only given that such a miraculous place could produce such a miraculous thing.

"The second energy is called Origin energy," Lui yang said as he looked at the two.

Yes, After transmigrating Lui Yang found that Experience points are not as imaginary as he had thought, in fact they are real energies that can be observed.

"This is the main energy mages used to cultivate, these energies are the results of accumulation by the magi when meditating in the soul-world and assimilated into it when enough of them are gathered (Leveled Up) ultimately strengthening the spirit and the soul-world as a result.

of course, this does not mean a mage has a weak body, in fact, a tiny portion of the origin energy is given to the body also making it stronger, this process of collecting origin energy and assimilating it into the soul world when they are collected enough is what we call leveling...."

"You two should also try this by yourself, after all this the main way mages cultivate- All you need to do is to enter the soul world and meditate there, soon pure black energy much like a firefly will manifest itself, and your main job of advancing the mage path will be collecting these tiny black dots of energy as much as you can"

"Right now, both of you are level-0, and advancing to level-1 needed about 10 orbs of these energy" Lui Yang said as he looked at the two.

And as expected, when Lui Yang talks about some numerical the two were lost like a lamb in a wilderness, after all since they had not gone to a school like Lui Yang did on earth this was expected not only that they were likely very unfamiliar with many of the terms he uses.

'There's a long way to go' he thought as he chuckled.

These two were his first student, he wasn't planning to let them go uneducated.

But back to the main point, this wasn't a kindergarten maths class, he would teach it to them later.

But even though Xu le and Xu Yi did not understand many of the things Lui Yang just said, there were also many things they manage to learn about mages.

For example, they learn that Mages much like cultivators were spilt into Major levels (or chasms in this case) and that there were exactly 100 levels separating each of them.

They even learn that even the lowest major level of mages, the peak apprentice lived for at least 700 years!!.

Of course, although they do not know what this number represents, but seeing their master's expression when saying it they guessed it must be one heck of a long time.

(A/N: The number of years a mage lived is directly proportional to their physique)

They even learned that they would be able to perform telekinesis and clairvoyance when they officially become a magi

Although they weren't sure what that was, they were still extremely excited.

And so time moved on, the sun that had appeared on the horizon when the two finally became a mage, reappears, this time slowly falling down concluding the end of the first-ever lecture held by a magi in this world.

..

The following days were the busiest day Lui Yang had ever encountered since his transmigration.

Lui Yang would alternate from teaching his disciples from subjects about mages to basic mathematics to looking after the farm they had in the backyard.

But of course, he wasn't the only one working hard.

Since, Unlike him, Xu le and Xu Yi did not have game system mechanics they had to properly accumulate origin energy by meditating hard every hour of the day as per their master's instruction.

Not only that, every Morning Xu le would wake up early before the sun rises to look at the sun rising from the Horizon, and the same was with Xu Yi who would sleep late at night to look at the stars or the moon in the sky.

Now they finally know the reason why their master had to look at the falling sun every evening

But as they work hard every day the rewards were also extremely bountiful.

Although they would never defeat Lui yang in terms of exp accumulation, due to their high talent, the rate of increase in levels they had was also extremely high in comparison to the NPCs of the game, terrifying even.

To which, According to Lui Yang's calculation would reach Level- 33 in one week, level- 39 in the second week, and Level 41 in the third week, at which point their growth should also start slowing down.

And not only that every time the two had some free time they would try engraving some runes into their soul world.

And Although it was hard, they successfully engrave their first spell rune, With Xu le succeeding in the [lightning bolt] rune at the end of the 2nd week and Xu Yi Successfully engraving the fireball rune only 3 days later.

"[fireball]" Xu Yi softly muttered.

And like a firefly in the dark of the night, a small red flame akin to a firefly erupted in her palm which then slowly revolved into the size of an apple.

"I Did it, Brother, master I finally did it," Xu Yi said excitedly looking at Xu le and Lui Yang by the side.

"Congratulations, little Yi" Xu le said as he patted her sister on the head.

"Congratulation little Yi....Now don't lose focus of the spell in your hand, direct your mana from your soul world into your palm and throw it out as hard as you can." Lui Yang said by the side.

Softly Nodding her head, Xu Yi composed herself and start concentrating...

Within her soul world, violent and formless energy rages out according to her will and approaches her hand.

Xu Yi Sweated, by the side of which Xu le and Lui yang Nodded understandably

A Spell was formed from one mana, therefore in a way a spell could be said to be an extension of one body part, so as long it hasn't completely left one's hand it could control also using ones mana.

This property of a spell was very useful in a way of spell casting for example...the propelling or launching of a spell from the castor's hand completely relies on this concept.

Then... Flinging her hands as hard as she can Xu Yi releases her spell into the distance.

Boooommmm*SFX
