Even in his drunk state Hadrian would watch over them,no matter how much they couldn't stop him from drinking,the main issue was without Hadrian himself wanting to stop nothing would happen.

Mary would marry Art and have a child named Owen.While John,Ian and Jean would stay in the keyhouse.

This was when Jean would meet the charismatic and young Hans Riffle,who was cripple.But what young Jean didn't know was a Nazi spy sent to infiltrate the Locke family in the hope of procuring their secrets for the Reich.John and his previous ancestors escapades in war came to their notice they wanted the secret.

Hans was careful and always meets Jean in town away from the other Locke's.As Jean was the one who was in charge on the shop in town,she would be away from home.So no one noticed anything.

Everything was going great as Hans was even able to get Jean to talk about the keys,until Han actually started falling in love,no matter how much he tried he couldn't deny it and upon a visit to the keyhouse Jean's excited behavior caught Hadrian's notice and he was curious.Thus leading to seeing Hans and finding out his identity as a spy.

Hans cover was a Bar owner quite close to Jeans shop,Hans was closing down the Bar as he noticed one customer was still inside.It was Hadrian who frowned at drink and muttered"I really want a Fire whiskey."

Hans seeing the man was taking his time spoke up"Sir the Bar is about to close down,so can you please leave."

Hadrian stopped drinking and said"Hans Riffle one of best spies Reich has ever produced."

Hans hearing this grew serious and replies"I don't know what you are talking about, sir"

Hadrian turned to face him and simply said"Right,I am going to just believe that."

Hans was going to go for gun hidden in his waist,but Hadrian simply summoned it into his hand.Hans just watched in shock as Hadrian gestured to seat and said"Do you want to sit down so we can talk?"

Hans knew this was it,he can't overpower this man after he was a cripple,so he took the seat and asked"So are you going to kill me."

Hadrian sighed taking a sip of drink replied"No atleast for the time being."

Hans asked"So what are your questions?"

Hadrian smiled and said"I already read your mind,but just wanted to hear it from you in person.Do you really love Jean?"

Hans closed his eyes and taking his time answered"When I came here my goal was to find the secrets of th Locke Family,I befriended Jean for the very reason.But I fell in live with her as time a passed."

While Hans was confessing Jean was watching everything with the Ghost key.Because Hadrian had told her everything about Hans and his secret at first it broke her heart,but Hadrian explained.

Flashback

Jean was crying mess questioned"So he was tricking me to get information about the keys?"

Hadrian shook his head and answered"At the start probably,but he started to fall in love for real and he has been having thoughts about running away with you."

Jean was now,surprised.But she had small hope hearing Hans really did love her,Hadrian at the start wanted to kill Hans and maybe modify the memory of Jean.But the problem was was the keys could easily retrieve these memories,which would cause issues.

So Hadrian decided to see what Hans would choose the Reich or Jean.
