A few days later, the Empress Dowager was already out of her wits and patience as she stood in front of the emperor's room where two guards dressed in black stood blocking her with blank expressions as their black masks covered half of their face. She glared at them. "How dare you behave so rudely to me, the Empress Dowager? Let me in this instant!"

One of them turned to face her as he gripped his weapon tightly as he replied. "No one is allowed to enter the emperor's room except the Grand Empress Dowager and the Noble Consort. These are the emperor's orders."

"The emperor gave you these orders?" Han Yaling was boiling with fury and embarrassment at his words which truly made them look like outsiders. But they dared not act rashly because like everyone in the capital knew who these people were and they were not to trifled with.
