Cigar smell

*Wang Mingze's POV*

".... seem like you've already given up, little toy"

I find it hard to accept that all it took to brighten up my mood is catching a glimpse of this male blonde.

Now, that proved it's actually worth not to claim his pathetic life by then and bring him to this island.

Just seeing palpable anxiety in his light blue eyes is enough for me to make a guess why he's here.

It's either he'd given up or wanna ask for more favors. I wish it's the former one though.... because if that's it, it means I can just drag him to my room and bully him as I want.... with his own 'consent' of course.

"That's..... that's not it, mister.....

Please, read this! "

Bending forward and bowing his head to me so respectfully, the young omega handed me a small notepad with both of his hands.

I seem to have a problem with his stubborn nature. It would have been more tactful if he just admitted defeat already. He's the kind of omega I would call dumb smart.

I just hate people trying to do futile stuff as if that's gonna bring real result. Only after scaring the omega out of his wits under my cold gaze, I casually took his notepad and quickly skimmed through it.

[ I genuinely thank mister for letting me use wifi and all.

But, I just realized that I'm not getting any practical solution without getting to know properly about someone I'm trying to please.

My apologies, and I'm really sorry if I disturb you but may I ask a thing or two about mister? ]

Mild amusement filled my hazel eyes as I scanned the note of his beautifully written calligraphy.

This omega is such a pretty daring one. Of course, there's no denying that his reasoning makes sense.

But trying to interview me?

I couldn't help letting out a chuckle as my eyes alternate between the notepad and the small omega who's fidgeting with the cuff of his white shirt in nervousness.

This omega sure has tons of courage despite it not seeming like he even has an ounce.

" You'd like to interview me?

Sure..... but....

I'm not doing it for nothing. "

*Li Haoyu's POV*

"Come inside....."

As soon as I reluctantly entered the study chamber, sliding glass door behind me was instantly closed by the alpha.

My heart missed a beat. Just the realization alone that I'm now in a room with no one else but me and the alpha gave me the heebie-jeebies.

Nervously hugging my notepad tight, I cautiously scanned around the entire room. Honestly, this modern study is even more luxurious than my father's.

With the decor of porcelain wood-look floor tiles that has light grey shade, a calm and soothing atmosphere envelopes the room.

Transparent glass wall windows let more natural light get into the room, dark blue round lounge chairs occupying some space by them.

Next to a full wall bookshelf is a ceramic glass table with slender legs in various metal finishes.

Mild surprise took over my eyes as I noticed a built-in seat window with soft cushions and all.

Impressed by the decor of his study room, I almost forget the alpha is still behind me.

But, that was until a pungent, smoky aroma of something that smelled like tobacco came disturbing my nostrils.

Feeling some itchiness in my nose, I immediately dug out a small handkerchief from my shirt pocket. But then, a cough instead left my lips as mild chest discomfort suddenly occurred to me.

" What's wrong? "

Catching me off guard, the alpha's low, deep voice resounded behind me. I didn't even realize since when he got so close to me. His hushed whisper mingling with cigar breath brushed past my cheeks.

Slightly distancing myself from him, I quickly tossed a glance at a half-smoked cigar in the ashtray of his ceramic glass table.

"Nothing, mister."

Despite the discomfort from its pungent smell, I quickly shook my head before sneezing again into my handkerchief.

When I finally raised my head after all the sneezing, the alpha was not next to me anymore.

He had already walked over to his black swivel chair and was now sitting on it with crossed legs, his golden hazel eyes obsessively still lingering on me.

Pulling out the drawer of a cigar humidor, the alpha casually picked up one in his right hand before opening his lips to ask me, obvious mischief in those hazel eyes.

"wanna have a straw of cigar..? "

"Thanks mister, but I'm good... "

This alpha definitely realized the source my discomfort is the cigar smell. But, he still asked me if I wanted one. He seemed to be having fun, bullying me after all.

Fortunately, refreshing sea breeze blowing into the room had saved me a lot of troubles.

But, it didn't take me long to stumble upon a realization that I'm not gonna escape from this nauseating cigar smell in the end.

Opening the lid of a zippo brass lighter, the alpha lit the cigar which I refused to accept earlier.

With a helpless face, I could only choose to ignore his not-so-gentleman manners.

Covering my mouth with the small handkerchief, coughs left my lips. My watery eyes scanned the entire room, eager to find a seat away from the alpha.

"Can I have a seat here, mister? "

Spotting a round lounge chair which is set up in the perfect place, I politely ask permission from the alpha. But his answer came unexpected.

"No...."

Hugging the notepad in my arms tighter, I stood still on the spot without knowing what else to do.

Cold sweat broke out in my fist which is clenching a small mechanical pencil.

Pursing my lips, I tried my best to stifle the growing anxiety in my heart. Does the alpha want me to sit near him? Or is it just that he doesn't want me to take a seat at all?

However, at that moment, his husky voice resounded, dropping those words which made my heart instantly sink.

" Why don't you just come here and sit on my lap, little toy? "
