Chapter 1(150 years later)

Snowflake wakes up from her bed, made of chicken feathers. It took a lot of chickens to make this... way too many chicken dinners. Today was supposed to be a special day. Her father was about to make a big breakthrough in science. Snowflake walked out of her room, and into a larger room with a giant obsidian mirror that is twice the size of a normal dragon. A large pole sticks out of the floor and is aimed at the mirror, which has a valve attached to it that Snowflake can hold easily. A valve powered by animus magic... Thanks, dad. Snowflake turned the valve and a flame burst through the pipe. The heat of the flame seemed as hot as the Sandwing kingdom in the summer. " Brainstorm " Snowflake called to the mirror. The smoke cleared and it shifted and changed. It showed a vague silhouette of a dragon surrounded by other blobs of smoke, the smoke seems to still be shifting, and it shows an actual dragon, in a large laboratory. The large dragon was all black, with white teardrops underneath his dark, but soulful eyes. It almost looks like he could be right there.

"Hi snowflake," Brainstorm said to Snowflake. "Did you get the sheep?"

"I didn't get a..." Snowflake turned around to see a large sheep, completely sheered. "Thanks, dad"

"No problem, kid. Oh, wait there was something else I was going to tell you about" Brainstorm stumbled around the lab looking for something. Snowflake rolled her eyes and reminded him about what he could be looking for.

"How is the Gene project going"

"OH YEAH!!! I was going to talk about it. Tell you what, how about you come over to the lab, and I'll show you my most amazing creation yet!"

Snowflake was excited, it has been a few years since she saw her father's laboratory. Freeze blew on the mirror with her frost breath which was able to end the call. Snow left her home and toward her Father's Lab but first, she had a little someone to pick up. The trees outside seemed to touch the sky. Snow barely noticed any of the tree houses made inside the tree's themselves. Snow landed on a ledge, made entirely out of leaves, branches, and vines. The door is made into the tree and covered with obviously fake jewelry. A young dragon oped the door. She was red enough to be brown but red enough to be brown. This was Ruby rose.

"Snow? What do you want this time?"

"Rose, It's time! My father completed his new experiment"

Ruby looked skeptical at Snowflake. "The last time I came with you I had foam stuck underneath my scales for two months"

"But this time it's different! He's created something... amazing!"

"How amazing?"

" 'We would never need any more hybrids anymore."

"And your certain it won't go wrong this time?"

Snowflake looked at her friend. How can I make her come with me while telling the truth? Snowflake looked at Ruby's door. The decorations were rubies. Oh, of course... Snow reach down and picked up a rock. I call this rock to become a ruby. at first, it seemed to do nothing. Ruby was becoming impatient.

"Look if you have no real reason, then I'm just going to leave. "

Ruby almost turned her back, then the rock started hatching. Ruby looked back at the rock and examined it closely. The rock kept peeling and cracking once it stopped, it was a pure ruby.

"what in Darkstalker's rein..... How did you do that?" Ruby said, very afraid.

"I have animus powers."

"When did you figure that out?"

"When I was very little... Maybe 3 or 4... "

Ruby rose tried to grab the ruby, but Snow kept keeping it away from her.

"If you want the ruby, you're going to have to come with me. "

"Seriously? Fine, but we're bringing my... step-cousin. "

"Oh no... not her"

"You want me to come? Then we're bringing her with us."

it took a few hours to get to the Super Course. The course is surrounded by a large stadium. It contains trees that are filled with tiny animals and vines, rocks made into loops, and a river running straight through it all. Snow and Ruby sat at the top row. They could see most of the race from there. There was an announcer right next to them. In front of the announcer was a large stick with an empty cone attached to it.

"The speedster is catching up to Maximum Velocity!" The announcer called to the audience. "If she wins this one it will be four in a row for the season!" A fast flash of blue light went right past a dark orange dragon. The light started flashing faster, causing the dark dragon to stumble and trip. The light passed right through an archway and stopped. The lights stopped flashing and the dragon appeared out of the light. An orange dragon with blue highlights and flashing scales across its sides and neck, she also had webs in between each talon and gills on her neck. The wings seem to be as large as the dragon she was racing against. The crowd cheered, except Snowflake. That spawn of the Hive queen is a cheater. She completely blinded him... Sometimes I wish they wrote rules just for her. Suddenly, the speedster appeared beside Snow, almost making her jump.

" What brings you two here? Magic rocks? Old books? That one thing Ruby can do with sand? "

" Seahorse, we want you to come with us to see Brainstorm's latest project," Ruby said... trying not to sigh.

"OK, I'll come." Seahorse said, almost immediately.

"Wait really? No compromise?" Snowflake said, surprised.

"No need! I've got nowhere to go for a few months until the next race. " So they all left the stadium and toward the boating docks.

" so does anyone have boating tickets to get to Pyrrha?" Seahorse called to the others.

"Well... I know a guy." Says Snowflake. They walk to a very old ship. Every piece seems to be replaced with something else, the bottom part of the boat is covered in holes that are resealed with leaves, tree bark, and cloth. The cabin section seems like it was made from a tree stump, but it's so wilted and re-mended that it no longer looks like a stump. The sail clearly looks like it was ripped off a few times, It was wrapped in multiple vines and seemed completely out of place with the rest of the ship. An old dragon stepped out of the cabin and walked onto the land. A large dragon with pale scales, a replaced talon, as many scars as the boat itself, and two broken wings, which was sad because he was half Skywing (the other half was a Hive wing). Ruby and Seahorse seemed to be afraid of him, but Snowflake seemed relieved.

"Can we trust him?" Seahorse said to Ruby

" Well... despite being two part of the worst dragons in history he's not too bad... but he is somewhat... strange."

Ruby responded. The Sky-Hive wing appeared behind Seahorse which made her jump. "Ah don't worry, kid. I won't hurt you... HAH! I can't do so anymore. Ah right... forgot to introduce myself to the newcomer. Name's Captain. Don't laugh... I changed it."

"How can I trust... guys?"

The other dragons were already on the boat while Captain and Seahorse were speaking.

"WAIT! Can we trust him?"

"Seahorse, I've traveled on this boat for a few years now... You think I would go on this boat if I didn't trust him?" Ruby said to Seahorse.

"Well... You got a point...." Seahorse finally went on the boat and was off to Pyhrrah. Once they landed, it was chaos. Crowds coming on and off different boats.

" Good luck, kids!" Captain called to the young dragons.

"Off to the Lab..." Snow said, looking up into the sky. The three young dragons took off into the sky and toward the lab, which was rebuilt from Scarlet's Arena. It looked like a large castle was dropped into the arena. The castle looked new, with bright colors and drapes of Brainstorm himself. There was a long line of Dragons and Dragonets trying to go in, most of them being sent back.

One large guard shouted, "TODAY IS NOT THE DAY TO SIGHT SEE! IF YOU ARE EXPECTING TO SEE THE OLD ARENA, YOU ARE MISTAKEN! PLEASE LEAVE THE PREMISES!"

The young dragons landed next to the door. The large dragon, who was yelling, let the three into the castle. The inside was beautiful, Walls covered with old drapes, Scrolls locked under pieces of glass, Armor worn onto almost realistic looking mannequins almost frozen in time, and a large book in the middle of it all was a large book, filled with history and knowledge from over ten thousand years ago. Remember, this is not the time to sight see. First, it's time to get to my dad. Snowflake was about to turn around and almost bumped into Bumblebee, A large Hive wing that carried a bag with mostly medical tools.

"Snowflake," She said, in a very distasteful sort of way. " your father has been waiting"

Bumblebee looked at the other two young dragons. Bumblebee groaned. "Why did you bring two other dragonets? They can't be trusted. "

"They are not Dragonets they are almost the same age as me"

" Everyone is a dragonet according to me! Your father has asked me to escort you, or should I say all of you, directly to him! " Bumblebee said in a more commanding and booming voice.

The three young dragons headed to a large door that had a picture of a dark dragon with a leaf blindfold with a book and a scroll. Bumblebee opened the door and let the three others in, with Bumblebee following in. The laboratory was completely made in chrome, with all of Brainstorm's old experiments behind glass. Brainstorm himself was is covered in foam, and saw the four dragons.

"AH, Snowflake... Um.... this is little something else I'm working on. BUMBLEBEE! Clear the foam please?"

Bumblebee went over to a switch and flipped it down. A large tube was sent down and the foam escaped. Underneath all the foam was a table covered with strange tubes and extra wires, in the middle of it all was a turntable with about 12 different bracelets.

"We'll get to those soon, but first for the biggest thing in gene manipulation..." Brainstorm went to a large wall that had a stick attached to it. Brainstorm pulled down on the switch and a part of the door opened up to a large dragon strapped to a chair.

" Um... what's that?" Seahorse asked.

"That, child, is the biggest thing since the invention of paper. It has the strength of ten thousand dragons, shapeshifting scales, both fire AND frost breath, a changing tip at the tail for defense, retractable poison teeth, six wings two of witch are unattached but can easily be attached and reattached, Future seeking, mind reading, leaf speak, and is, of course, animus. "

"That's incredible... this changes everything we know of hybrids..." Ruby said

"Well... it's not really a hybrid... it's more of a... Deca-brid." Brainstorm called out.

" Hey, Bee, can you show the kids around a little? It will take a while to wake her up"

"Sir...? Fine..." Bumblebee and the others left the room, but almost immediately after the door was closed, a large thud and a groan were heard by the door. Bumblebee opened the door to see the large Deca-brid disappear with one of the bracelets. Brainstorm was right under the dragons. Snowflake ran over to her father.

"Hey... Snowflake...."

"Don't die on me.... don't you dare die on me...."

"Hey, don't worry kid...I won't die... But... I'll probably be crippled... Snowflake... I want you and the three to stop my creation... " Brainstorm pulled out a cracked bracelet that was made entirely out of stone. "Snowflake... Save the world... then... Save me..." Brainstorm placed the bracelet on Snowflake's arm. Sudden;y it started to spark

"Snowflake, give me the bracelet... It's not safe" Bumblebee said to Snow. Snow tried to take the bracelet off but it sparked, even more, every pull.

"I can't... It hurts..."

"You two, help me with this... " Bumblebee called to Seahorse and Ruby. Bumblebee went into the lab and grabbed a large stick.

"OK, I'm going to slip this onto you, Snowflake... The two of you will pull on it." Bumblebee placed the stick under the bracelet, Seahorse and Rose grabbed onto the bracelet.

"Is this going to work?" Asked Seahorse

"It better, or it could fry your arm into a nice charred meal." Bumblebee pulled up on the stick, but the bracelet exploded causing them all to teleport.

" well.... it worked..." Said Brainstorm
