I'll Help You

"I mean the world outside this cold castle is so much more amazing!" Kain became even more confused and Susie suddenly sympathized with him.

"Mr. Jackson, just know that I will help you," Susie said seriously. In fact, she only said so to deceive him and gain his trust.

Kain didn't respond, just teleported to the French window, standing in a daze.

Susie took his silence as consent, walked out of the room and closed the door.

Despite many vacancies on the second floor, Susie chose to live next door to Kain for the convenience of keeping an eye on him.

After tidying up her bedroom, Susie opened the medicine kit and sat in front of the mirror to apply medicine to her neck. To her surprise, the bite marks on her neck were gone, leaving only a circle of bruised finger prints.

Wounds healed themselves! Impossible! Susie remembered the kiss Kain left on her neck. Did that kiss heal my wounds?

On the first night of sleeping in the castle, Susie lost sleep. She couldn't help thinking of Kain's low voice and her deal with master Ryan.

The next morning, the first thing Susie did when she woke up was to go to Kain's room because despite he had mysterious and powerful abilities, he was blind.

Kain hadn't woken up yet. Susie quietly walked to the French window and drew back the curtains to let in light, only to find that there was a wall behind the curtains.

There were no windows in this room! Susie began to wonder why Kain was standing in front of the window last night.

On the thought of the indifferent attitude of the housekeeper Mr. Gary, Susie couldn't help but wonder if Kain had always been a weirdo or did he become so after that misfortune three years ago?

Susie felt someone stared at her from behind as she wondered. She turned around. Kain was awake, staring at her with a straight face, terrifying her.

"Good morning, Mr. Jackson,"Susie smiled and greeted gently.

Kain snorted and looked away, not willing to speak to her.

Susie sensed he was sulking about something, but she couldn't figure out what she said wrong.

"Mr. Jackson, can I ask you to do me a favor?"

"If you ask to leave the castle, just go head, you don't need my permission," Kain jeered.

Susie shook her head. "No, I just want to install a window in your bedroom to improve ventilation. Is that okay?"

"What did you say?" The look on Kain's face became odd.
