Rich Kain

The morning sun shone softly into the bedroom. Susie opened her eyes and found herself lying on Kain's bed, covered in Kain's gray wool coat.

Kain wasn't in.

Susie got up, left Kain's room, and went down the stairs.

Jack's voice came from the living room, "Little master, stinking girl saved you last night! Not only did she feed you blood, but I also saw that she fought against that woman for you. But that woman was so bullying that she let someone beat stinking girl!"

"Uh-huh." Kain stood in the center of the living room, responding in a low voice.

"Little master, do you also think that stinking girl is not bad, that's why you helped her heal? Otherwise, she'll have to live with an ugly face for days," Jack continued.

Susie paused and touched her face. There was no pain or wounds. She glanced up as she passed the glass frame on the wall and found that her face was as smooth as ever, without the slightest bruise.

"Unfortunately, if stinking girl wasn't an inferior human, I can still reluctantly agree to her staying with you!"

Just at then, Susie walked into the living room and heard Jack's words.

"Stinking crow, are you a noble breed?" Susie stood arms akimbo, glaring at Jack, who was flying in the air and did not expect her sudden appearance. Head feathers standing up in fright, Jack blamed, "Stinking girl, why do you walk so quietly? You scared me!"

Jack suddenly realized that Susie had mocked him just now. It said angrily, "Of course, I am noble. Unlike you, inferior human being, I'm an el — " "Shut up," Kain cut it off.

With a thrill of horror, Jack zipped his mouth and flew to Kain's shoulder, not daring to make a sound.

Susie was confused, what was the last word Jack was going to say? El? Elf?

"Susie?" Kain called. It was the first time Kain called her name. Susie straightened her back and looked at him vigilantly. Seeing that she didn't respond, Kain asked, "Isn't this your name?"

"Yes. I'm Susie Taylor, Mr. Jackson." Susie replied.

Kain's eyes fell on the burnt-out living room. "Susie, I think we should clean up this place."

If Susie wasn't sure about Kain's attitude towards her before, she was now certain that Kain had at least tacitly approved of her stay at the castle.

"You are right, but . . . " Susie was embarrassed. Redecoration could be a big expense, but she'd been suspended and when she was sent to the castle, she was penniless.

The corners of Kain's mouth rose, and his cold, fierce face instantly revealed a charming smile. Susie looked at him, almost stunned.

If Kain's eyes were recovered, what a handsome face it would be!

Suddenly, Susie felt something shoved into her hand. "There is enough money in this account. It should be enough," Kain said.

Susie looked down and found that she was holding a gold card that a bank didn't issue to the public. It was said that the gold card had no daily swipe limit.

She was shocked. Wasn't Kain abandoned by his family after that accident? How could he still have so much money?

"Indeed, I'm not as rich as I used to be. But I did some investments threes years ago. Luckily, they are profitable every year. That's how I make my fortune." Kain explained patiently.

Susie counted her fingers, three years ago? Kain was 17 and she was still in high school.
