The camera's view was facing Sun Young-mi's face from the side. The audience could see her eyes close when she first began to hum into the microphone. It was a soft hum that began on a C5 note.
~ <3
~ Is this wildflower?
Young-mi slowly went into a C6 falsetto and the transition sent goosebumps down the arms of the man who was in the studio's control room.
"The sky light fades away again.." Ji-ho sang. "And the wildflowers sway at my feet."
~wtf
~She totally changed the song?!
~This version is nice too.
"Your winter has settled in my heart-"
~Beautiful <3
~Young-mi sings so well.
What Ji-ho didn't know was that a certain maestro who had written and produced Wildflower was currently watching her live with bated breath. Someone had sent him a link to the video saying Jessica was butchering his most beloved song. It was the complete opposite.
~Young-mi's voice is very clear. I've listened to their first album and thought it such a pity that her potential wasn't explored. She sounded so unremarkable despite having a good instrument in her throat. Happy to see she's been trained since then.
~shut up and enjoy the song
~suddenly everyone is an expert in singing
~ T.T I feel like I'm hearing wildflower but not. Does anyone feel the same? Not saying it's bad.
So far so good, Ji-ho's performance was heart touching, emotional even. But the audience wasn't ready for the bridge.
The music crescendoed and Ji-ho jumped two octaves from Eb4 to Eb6. Her vocal range was finally being revealed and it stunned all the people who were listening to her. The comments had slowed down considerably because now they were all fully absorbed by the song.
Sun Young-mi was hitting notes that most professional singers in the industry could only dream of. Her transitions were smooth, her voice stable. But the aspect that really made an impact was the amount of emotion she injected into the song. Wildflower originally sounded like a sorrowful old heartbreak that remained unhealed, but Young-mi's rendition sounded like a fresh heartbreak that was consuming and fiery. The original brought tears to their eyes but Young mi's version reminded them of their first heartbreaks and how terrible it had hurt.
Ji-ho sobbed the last words out and her voice cracked. It was the perfect finish to the emotionally draining song.
~Completely stunned
~no words
~Sun Young-mi...
When most of the listeners were recovering from what Young-mi had done to them, the screen lit up with fireworks and an announcement sounded loud.
"Seung-ho has awarded a golden dragon to Sun Young-mi! Thank you, Seung-ho! Thank you, Seung-ho!"
Ji-ho's eyes lit up with excitement. Whose golden thigh was this?! Could she cling to it?! The golden dragon was a lot of money. It was the highest tier gift that could be awarded to a user on the platform, and the best part was that the money from this award went entirely to the user. The golden dragon was a recognition of the artist's talent and of how the award giver was willing to spend that amount, almost one year's salary worth for a middle-class person, on a talent they appreciated.
~WAAHHHH
~Who is this Seung-ho?! Rich uncle!
The user was brand new and didn't have a profile picture. It made a few people suspect that Young-mi was pulling the wool over their eyes to hype herself more.
~Sun Young-mi sent herself the dragon
~No shame
~Encore! Encore! Encore!
~Even using a name that's similar to our great Seung-ho.
~Why would young-mi send the dragon to herself?! Her talent speaks for itself!
~Jessica WHORE
And just like that, the screen lit up again.
"Seung-ho has awarded a golden dragon to Sun Young-mi! Thank you, Seung-ho! Thank you, Seung-ho!"
Ji-ho could not contain herself. If she had this big golden thigh supporting her then she wouldn't have to look for work anymore.
"Seung-ho, sir!" She happily shouted into the microphone. "This next song is for you!"
An upbeat saxophone and drum intro played and Ji-ho began belting out the lyrics to a popular foreign song that had become a hit in the country. Her energy and happy smiles sent powerful positive vibes that affected her listeners, even the unwilling ones.
~Young-mi!!!! I love you!!
~Her accent is so natural!
~I AM A RELUCTANT FAN! DRAG ME AWAY FROM THIS SCREEN!
~Young Mi's vocal technique is so good. How did she improve this dramatically?!!
Several gifts began pouring in from the listeners. Diamonds, castles, Rainbows, Cauldrons, and Treasure began filling the spaces between the comments.
And when the song ended, the screen lit up once more and this time, there was a message from the golden thigh.
"Whispering winds."
Ji-ho understood what was being asked of her. Her golden thigh was requesting the song whispering winds.
"Mister Seung-ho, thank you for filling my pockets. I won't have to work at McDonald's where I just got accepted to fry chicken nuggets," she said with a grin. "I will perform Whispering winds just as the original is. Please enjoy my performance!"

Aera's high heels clicked on the marble floor as she power-walked her way to her twin brother's library. She threw open the doors and stood at the threshold of the expansive library. Her hands were on her hips as she faced the brother who was wearing a pair of earphones and listening to whispering winds.
"I knew it was you!" She declared.
_____
"Thank you all for tuning in to my singing session! Let's do this again tomorrow!" Young-mi said with a big bright smile. "And don't forget to check out studio Pacific's website."
~Nooooo sing more!
~Dont wanna leave
The screen went dark and Ji-ho reached for a bottle of water. She didn't know how it was possible but Sun Young-mi's body had integrated Ji-ho's abilities into itself. It was something she found out while humming in the bath on her first day as Jessica.
"Miss Young-mi, I just want to tell you how honoured I am that you chose to perform at my studio." The voice came through her headphone which was still on.
Ji-ho showed a thumbs up and the sound engineer saw it through the glass separating them. His decision to let her use the studio had been purely from a business point of view but now he was a convert and a new Young-mi fan.
"Same time tomorrow?" He asked her.
"Same time."

"Oppa, what are you watching? Are you okay?" Iris asked Blue as she came out of the bathroom wearing a white bathrobe.
Her boyfriend was pale and he looked like someone going through shock.
Blue shut his laptop down and wore a fake smile for Iris. "It's nothing babe. I need to go somewhere."
"Where are you going? You said we would be visiting Han garden tonight for the fountain and light show!"
Iris stamped her feet and pouted but Blue wasn't paying attention to her anymore. He had found his muse. And it was the person who hated him from the depths of her heart.
