The carriages arrived at the front of the steel building. Up close,it looked like a mansion made out steel. An old man in white robe walked out of the front door of the building with two bodyguard in armor.
"Welcome back commander."The old man said.
"We have finished the Orc,Veildra. And also,we have a guest" Elaine replied.
"That is a great news I see. Who is this guest?" The old man replied to Elaine.
Elaine signaled Miriam to bring Alif out of the carriage. Miriam told Alif to come out and he came out nervously but at the same time amazed by the mansion.
"This is him. He is lost and it appeared that he came from somewhere unknown. He said his name is Alif" Elaine said.
The old man rubbed his chin while looking at Alif closely. He raised one of his eyebrow and slowly approached Alif. He stood right in front of Alif and looked at him straight in the eye. The old man then slowly back down.
"I see. You are not from around here. You have the face like those of western people especially that one kingdom...I forgot its name." The old man chuckled.
"Oh,where is my manners. My name is Kurtis Veildra or the people around here calls me Lord Veildra. My family have been watching over this city for generations and we just apart of the big and prosper Tartarus Kingdom." The old man,Veildra as he would like to be call said.
Then,Alif,Miriam and Elaine were escorted inside while the knights went somewhere else. The mansion is also a base for the knights so they can protect the city in time of need.
Inside,Elaine explained everything to Veildra and they talked for a while. The maids in the mansion showed Alif his room. It was a guest room that was completely furnished. Short while,Miriam came in and brought in a fresh new clothes for Alif.
"Thanks." Alif thanked Miriam.
"No problem. Stay here as long as you like or until we found out where you came from. Then,we can send you back home."Miriam replied in a soft tone.
Alif tried on the new clothes after Miriam left the room. The clothes looked like a normal medieval everyday clothes he have seen movies or shows. He laid down in the bed and think about what he should done next. He fell asleep not long after.
"Boy,listen to me. This place is not safe. Get out. You don't belong here." A voice whispered.
Alif opened his eyes and find himself in large empty white space, alone. Then,a bright golden light shone in front him to reveal a man in golden armor...or clothes...he can't really tell.
"Who...are you?"Alif asked nervously.
"A spirit guide. Your spirit guide. I don't have much time boy. You are not strong enough yet but I can tell you this. This place is not suitable for you. Get out of here before its too late." The man replied while slowly fading away.
"Wait-" Alif was about to say something but the man disappeared.
Then,Alif woke up from his sleep. It looked like to be night already. He felt the dream he just experienced was real and not dream at all.
*Knock,knock,knock...*The sound of someone knocking the door.
"Come in."Alif replied.
Miriam opened the door gently and approached Alif.
"Elaine told me to call you for dinner. Come to the dining hall right now."Miriam had a soft tone but sounded so commanding.
Alif followed Miriam to the dining hall where it seemed all the knights and housekeepers gathered for the dinner. To the far front of the hall, well decorated dining tables aligned side by side. Veildra and Elaine both sat at one of the tables each. Behind that tables, was a large painting.
"Here he is Miss Elaine,Lord Veildra." Said Miriam gently.
"Ohoho. Come here young man. Have a seat." Veildra invited Alif to seat beside him.
Alif nervously sat beside him. Miriam on the other hand, sat beside Elaine. Then, the waiters brought in the foods for everyone. Main course that night was cooked beef.
Alif looked at the meal and hesitated to eat. He chose to eat only the vegetables that were served with the main course. Veildra looked at Alif confused.
"Why don't you eat the meat. Do you not like them." Veildra asked.
"I do like meat but there is something else that is bothering me. You see,I must resist from eating non-halal foods."Alif replied.
Alif is a muslim and that is why he refused to eat meals that is unconfirmed its halal status.
"I see. Well then Iam very correct at least. I know where you are from, at least from your meal preference. You are like those people from Sannah Kingdom in the middle west." Veildra said understanding Alif's culture.
"Sannah Kingdom? What does it look like?"Alif asked.
"It is a kingdom surrounded by desserts but despite that,it is still a thriving and prosper kingdom." Veildra replied.
Alif listened closely to what Veildra was telling him. He thought this world was like that RPG games but it seems this world also has religions and cultures like his own world.
Veildra then pointed towards the painting on their back. Alif looked at the painting but as matter in fact,it was not a painting. It was a map.
"That is where Sannah Kingdom is. You see, right in the middle." Veildra said.
He looked closely. The map...it looks familiar. He then noticed that the map looked like his own world's world map but is flipped west to east so the west in his world became east in this world and vice versa. Sannah Kingdom as Veildra showed should be at the same place as Egypt.
"Wait..this is the world map?"Alif asked.
"Yes. Indeed. As accurate as ever."Veildra replied.
Alif stood up and looked closely at the map. To his perspective, everything like mountains, ranges and seas are in the same place as in his world accept flipped west to east.
"We also have the Meng Yi Kingdom,The Rukyu Kingdom, many more and also like that one kingdom that has huge trading empire. Boats sailed across the sea just to trade in that kingdom. It is also where I think you might came from. But like I said,I forgot its name." Said Veildra.
All of this, made Alif even more fascinated. This world is not as different as he thought it is. In fact,it is like a complete mirror of his own world.
Then,he noticed something. The Tartarus Kingdom on the map is right at American Continent from his world point of view.
"Wait,Iam in America?" Said Alif.
"America? What is that."Veildra asked.
"Nothing.Ehe." Alif remarked.
Elaine just focused on finishing her meal but Miriam was paying attention to Veildra and Alif. She was quite amused by their conversation. Eventhough Veildra knew Alif is different from them,he still treat Alif like nothing had changed.
