Dawn felt really damn good being out of that place. She felt alive, she felt like she could breathe. She felt more than she'd been before, and she always felt a pain in her chest. She knew the pain was because of Lucian, she made peace with the fact she wasn't completely human anymore, she was like him. He left some unseen mark on her, and that animal part that was strong and alive started to pine.

Two days, two days she'd been out and ran nonstop. She stole a car and sped off fast before pulling off and finding another car and taking that one going a different direction. She was tired, she hadn't really slept except an hour here and there. So she stopped now, and had managed to steal a couple purses and just took the cash. She should have enough to stay here, an older motel. Easy, the night clerk clearly didn't care and she gave him money, got a key and trudged over to the small diner across the way.

"You look beat." The waitress said, and she gave her a bright smile.
