Wordless

Mari was now at the entrance of the white marble building that she was traveling far into. From the outside it seems a lot smaller than it was inside. The marble structure was still there and she was able to get one more mental picture of the building.

"It still smells and feels like my skin is slowly burning off. But, it seems like this building is beautiful in its own right." She thought.

The building was being swallowed up by the dense fog. The marble white building that was half inside the sand was now disappearing.

The fog finished engulfing the building and swept into the air like it was merely an illusion.

"I don't think that's going to be the first time I'm surprised by the goddess and her might." Mari said.

Mari felt the overwhelming power of the goddess and met a faithful follower. She was now replaying what had occurred inside the white marble building.

"The smell of vanilla was very serene." She thought.

She recalled the brief time she had with the messenger and found a new respect for the goddess as the messenger that appeared in front of her was respectful but did not dare to allow anyone to question the mercy of the goddess he follows.

"She must be someone very wonderful." She thought.

The sense of respect for someone divine is something that Mari had not yet experienced. She was not faithful to any divine being. This was not because she was a nonbeliever but instead because her morals and life was lead by the point of a sword. She was a sword master before becoming the lady of a house.

"If I had some sort of faith before all this than maybe it wouldn't have started. I'd still be along side you." She thought.

Mari was reminded that she was in the middle of the desert with her skin slowly crying because of her adventure with Kai. No matter what she did at this moment she can't forget the warm embrace of sweet love.

"I have to continue with my task if I'm ever going to be with you again." She continued.

"What was another thing the messenger said?"

"If I have any questions about the goddess than please read the book that was gifted to me."

The book that Mari was carrying had stopped glowing earlier when she was done talking with the messenger. Now it seemed like any plain old book that was full of a large story.

"How is a better time than ever. I enjoy reading and would like to see what the book has in store for me."

Mari opened the book and was surprised. The gold glimmering pages were blank.

"That's not right."

She flipped left and right and looked up and down, but there was still not a single word on the gold glimmering pages. The book was blank.

"He said that the book would have answers but this is completely blank. How can this be? Even the tasks my husband and I were given aren't here anymore. They were there. I know it."

"This has to be another power the goddess put in place. It has to be. Maybe I'm just not worthy enough to read another page yet."

The book was large and empty, but still glimmered in the sunlight like a celestial being. It was obvious that the book that Mari was holding was very important and had immense power.

"Well, if this is all that I've got for now I should head the advice of the messenger and head East. I'm supposed to see a kingdom but originally there was nothing mapped throughout this entire desert."

Mari and Kai were very intelligent and had heard whispers about a lost civilization within the desert. This is the reason they were in the desert in the first place. They retrieved many maps and gained many allies to fuel their search and quench their curiosity. When it came down to it there was not supposed to be a single structure here in the desert but they've been experiencing nothing of the sort. It was the complete opposite from the beginning.

"How is there so many unknown secrets here in the desert?"

Mari looked towards the sun but not directly, she had to get her sense of direction before she might end up on the wrong path.

The sun was beating down heavily and wrapped around Mari. Her pearlescent skin was glowing red from the heavy heat that was beating down on her.

"I have to make it quick. It's starting to scorch me." She thought as she looked at the sky.

"I've got the direction I need to head down, but this heat is getting strong."

There was no break for Mari and the constant problems that occurred, but as she was focusing on the sun she was soon surprised to feel the energy that was encircling her core was now kissing her entire body. It was because of her will and intense focus to try to intervene the heat that she was able to do this. It was the blessing she just received from the goddess as she spoke to the messenger.

"It seems like this energy manipulation works by sheer will. So if I focus on protecting myself I would be able to continue like this instead of being cooked out here in the sun."

"This really is not too bad." Mari said.

With the energy surrounding the body of Mari she headed towards the east. The desert was the most unforgiving terrain with the weight of sand slowing you down as you take more and more steps. What's worse is that this region was very unknown and not many other travelers or adventures dared to challenge this area. These were largely known facts in the world that Mari lived in.

"Towards the east I will see a kingdom. I really should have asked about when because judging by the length of my last adventure down a single hallway it might be much longer than anticipated." Mari thought.
