Chapter 31: Unbelievable

The sound of Steve talking slowly fizzled to faint muffled chatter in Andrew’s ears.

Andrew was furious. Angry bile rose in his chest as if a volcano was about to explode.

Thinking back to the way Felicia had spoken after Steve’s suicide attempt and subsequent coma, she had been so uncaring and cold towards the whole situation, yet she knew the reason. When he had blamed it on some mysterious girl Steve had met through Ivy’s app, Felicia hadn’t corrected him.

“Andrew!” Steve said as he snapped his fingers in front of his face.

“Tell me more about this M--”

Before he could finish talking, Ivy and his mother entered back into the living room.

“Mrs. Benson is quite a funny one!” his mom commented.

“It’s Miss,” Ivy corrected, and Andrew watched as his mother’s eyes widened and then winked at him.

“She is single,” his mother whispered in his direction.

“Yes, Mom. We can all hear you. Including her!” Andrew jokingly whispered back to her.
