Chapter 33: The Joker

Ivy turned to look at Andrew. She could see his eyes darting around the room. Being so accustomed to the finer things in life, she had forgotten how it could be overwhelming for someone to take in all the luxuries her wealth provided.

When he looked at her, his face had suddenly reddened. Maybe being in the air was contributing to how Andrew looked.

Ivy took his hand and led him towards the bed. She could feel his grip tighten.

“Are you alright? You know you are pretty safe up here, right?” She squeezed his hand and patted his arm with her other hand. Again, he tensed up.

Andrew disengaged his hand from her and sat down. Was he feeling faint? Ivy rushed to the small bar fridge in the room and took out bottled water before coming and handing it to him.

Andrew chuckled as she handed him the water.

“Oh, honey, it is not being in the air that is making me feel what I am feeling right now,” Andrew said and Ivy frowned.
