We are driving down a highway headed toward the countryside and Griffin still hasn’t told me where they took Bethany. He’s driving, leading several other cars behind us. 


I sigh in irritation and displeasure at being left out of the loop completely. Griffin rolls his eyes and halfway glances at me before asking, “Are you that angry that I haven’t told you where we are going?” 


What does he think? I’m the boss and he’s calling the shots. It’s my girl that’s in danger… “Yes. Now tell me where we are going, Griffin, or so help me…” I demand. 


Griffin sighs and pauses for a moment. “Do you remember the old slaughterhouse an hour out of the city?” No. No. He didn’t take her there. No. That’s terrible.
