Chapter 50: Epilogue

(Beth’s POV)

*Six years later*

Anthony smashes an ice cream cone in Griffin’s face after Griffin wiped chocolate syrup along my nose. “Hey man!” Griffin laughs.

Griffin lunges over the top of me and smears the dripping remains across Anthony’s crisp white shirt. I snicker and lean back against the park bench I’m sitting on. Watching my best friend and husband play fight is the best way to spend an afternoon.

“Momma! Poppa! Uncle Griffin! Look, look! Look what a kind woman handed me.” Serena says, running over to us with a large yellow rose. She’s holding a letter in her hand.

I kneel to the ground in front of her and give her a big smile. “Who’s that, my little flower?”

Our daughter just turned four last week and it’s hard to believe even after four years I’m a mother. Anthony and I were hesitant to even have a child due to our line of work but after some heavy consideration, we decided that we could make it work.
