Chapter 50

After lunch at the country club, they went to get their hair done. Alex chose an elegant up-hair style. The stylist inserted some baby's breath flowers into her hair, adding a touch of softness. On the way to bring her friends home, so they could finish getting ready for the wedding, Alex stopped at the florist to pick up the bouquets, table centerpieces, boutonnieres, and corsages. The sweet aroma of the red and white roses filled the vehicle making her realize just how close they were getting to go-time.

"See you in a couple of hours," Alex said excitedly as she dropped Kate and Beth off at their houses.

She and her mom returned home where they sat and watched the clock tick. Alex looked away from the clock and then back again. Only minutes passed each time she did this. She just wanted to get on with it. She wanted to become Peter's wife, but it wasn't happening fast enough.

"Maybe Corky can be the ring bearer. We've been practicing," her dad beamed.
