Chapter 17: What Now?

Dominic uncurled his body. The conversation had upset him so much his afternoon of reading was pushed to the back of his mind. He needed to act - and fast. Though for once he realised the importance of thinking through his next moves rather than blindly reacting on impulse. Too much was at stake, he coin not afford any missteps.

His agitation mounted as he paced around the room, considering his options. In the end he sat down at the desk, attempting to calm down and think the situation through rationally.

Stopping Thalia's kidnapping was a priority, but no one would believe what he had overheard. Even if he did manage to convince someone of the danger his friend faced, what would they be able to do without details of the kidnapper?

Perhaps he could talk with Hubert? No, since their mother's death, he had been even more fragile, worrying about the smallest things. He could not add to his brother's burdens.
