Chapter 61: A Talk With The Gods II

Waking early, Emer forced herself out of bed and slowly changed into her penitent's robe. Neatly folding her clothes and placing them on the end of the bed, she was ready to go. For a few moments, she attempted to pace out her nervous energy, but there was not enough space in the small room to work off her tension. With a sigh, she sat on the chair and took some deep breaths in an attempt to control her anxiety.

Her hand automatically went to the silver bangle around her wrist and began twisting it, as was her habit when nervous. Oh no. I can't take this with me. She worked at the bracelet until it finally popped off, leaving angry red marks on her hand. Gently, she placed it on top of her clothes and returned to her seat.
