CH 18: more preparations pt 2

The party marched our during the night and were surprised at how quite it was. Everyone's senses were dialed to eleven as they searched around but alas, nothing.

"that's weird I swear there were more goblins earlier." jake piped up after they had searched for a while

John agreed in confusion but that disappeared once he received a notification

[the goblin mayor is coming close to a goblin lord ]

[all goblins have gone through an evolution and become either goblin warriors or goblin archers ]

Johns face turned to a frown as he read the messages

'damn I thought that it would take longer this time' John thought

Reading the notifications he also received one about the increased difficulty of the mission and the rewards increased aswell, but there was one thing that caught his eye and made him smile grow reaching from ear to ear

[2nd evolution goblins can drop (skill stones)]

"everyone we need to find some goblins as soon as possible." John said in extreme happiness

The party grew surprised at this as they hadn't seen him this happy since the disaster began.

"why what's different now?" katlyn asked

"they have evolved becoming stronger but they now drop new items which we should get as soon as possible." the others grew happy at this after all they had become many times stronger than they had been this morning and with new items they might even be able to grow even stronger

Everyone's mood skyrocketed as they decided to all head out and defeat some newly evolved goblins

Hunting together in a group was possibly less efficient but due to the goblins evolution they decided to do so just to be on the safe side and so that John could keep all the items in his inventory.

The group had managed to kill a few groups of goblins as these roamed in groups ranging from 5-7

"is it just me or do these goblins seem smarter aswell?" josh asked suddenly

"I think you may be right it definitely seems so." Terry replied

"so what are we going to do with these rocks then cuz they just seem useless." David asked John as he hadn't said anything about the rocks other than to grab them all and that they were important

"these are skill stones, we can use them to gain skills for the future but we should use them later so we can share them among the group." John explained, glad that they were all taking this seriously and asking questions about stuff that could effect them in the future

" *HUFF* I think we should take a break for now me and katlyn are getting pretty tired." Jack said as his knees slumped down

John looked at the group and realized that they were all pretty tired and decided to go to a classroom to rest up.

"be sure to shut all the windows and lock the door we don't want to get attacked with our guard down." Terry ordered as she began to shut the windows

John hurried along and helped with the lock up of the room before slouching down and checking his status as he had seen some system notifications about some new skills

He was still annoyed about the point lost from his defence stat but the items they gained has increased significantly thanks to the increased drop rate.

The drop rate of everything increased and now instead of dropping Rusty daggers they now dropped either a sword or a bow and despite its drop rate being 1/2 with every goblin either a sword or bow is guaranteed to drop but both wouldn't drop from one goblin and aswell if the goblin dropped a bow it would drop arrows but the arrows wouldn't drop from a goblin that dropped a sword. This of course made sense as a warrior goblin wouldn't carry arrows with it, the helmet would always drop with a sword drop due to it being from a warrior goblin. They had killed 57 goblins 33 of them were warriors and 24 were archers allowing them to get a decent amount of each type of drop

John smiled seeing the large amount of items in his inventory. Thinking about what he left back at the canteen they should have enough to get nearly everyone kitted with a full set of goblin gear by the end of the nights loot farming.

"you do know you look really creepy when you smile like that." Terry said as she sat besides John

"yeah she's right you really do" jake said as he sat onto a table

"if I didn't know better I would think that you were a serial killer or something." josh chimed in as he pulled up a chair

Everyone laughed at what they said and started talking about how crazy all of this was, this was after something out of an anime or some book.

"what were you smiling at anyway?". Katlyn asked as she sat on the floor besides Jack

"I was checking my inventory to see how many items we've managed to gather so far. By the end of the night we should be able to nearly get everyone kitted and they can start practicing with some goblin groups ready for the main fight."

"I've been meaning to ask some things John." Jack asked as he stared at him

"how does your inventory work such as knowing what's in there and how do you know what your taking out and how do you know about this goblin boss and what the newly evolved goblins dropped before we even killed one?" Jack laid out his questions without a second thought

'should I tell them about the system. They're my party so I don't think they'll betray me but what if this gets leaked I'm not worried about dying but what if people get jealous or what if in the future I get captured and experimented on by the government. Well the government might not be together anymore or for much longer. I could just explain the inventory as just a screen and tell them about my regression ability. '

John sat there for a few minutes before giving a big sigh and started telling them everything
