CH 28: small training

Once every item was collected John checked to see if there was anything useful among them. There were some good bows and it seemed that they were used by the goblin archers who were close to becoming shamans.

[high 2nd evolution goblin bow

+20% accuracy

+30% arrow speed

+5% to wind elemental attacks

+2% to any other elemental attacks ]

He gave two of these to the others left alive and one each to Jack and katlyn. James and the other person were given new new swords gained from some strong goblin warriors.

[high 2nd evolution goblin sword

+20% critical chance

+30% critical damage

+10% base damage

+5% elemental damage ]

David was given a larger club which was left behind by the goblin mayor when it started killing the rest of the goblins.

[goblin mayor's wooden club

+50% damage

+10% to earth element attacks

+20% stun chance

+30% critical chance

+50% critical damage ]

Luckily this matched David's elemental affinity the same as with Jack and katlyns bows. Next up was Terry who was given one of the swords aswell as an item from the shamans.

[goblin shaman elemental fire charm

+15% to fire elemental damage

-20% to fire elemental cost

+10% chance to burn target ]

The charm was a necklace with a red and orange spiral and was honestly pretty powerful. Everyone else was given the daggers that were left and John wasn't disappointed.

[goblin thief's daggers x2

+10% AGI

-10% stamina loss

+2% STR boost per combo hit

+2% AGI boost per combo hit ]

These were from two daggers together so each dagger only gave half of the benefits each but these were still great for him as he's prioritised AGI and STR when he could but has still decided to keep his stats moderately the same so a boost would be great.

Once everyone was kitted out in new gear, some of which contained a few pieces of higher level goblin armour but unfortunately these didn't actually give any stat points but only increased their defensive power, they decided to start practicing so they could get used to their higher stats.

Terry, David, Jack and katlyn started by training their affinitys which unlike skills didn't have levels but instead tiers and a proficiency stat attached to them. Whilst practising they noticed that their elemental abilitys were much weaker than when they had fought the goblin mayor but they couldn't tell why. Before this John had quickly taught them how to guid magic through their body's thus leading them to unlocking (magic strengthening)

With his teacher title John had managed to teach everyone how to move their magic into their body's and to unlock (magic strengthening) everyone had also gained (meditation) and (magic control) and once everyone had practised more John finally found out how to increase the level of his (magic strengthening) skill.

In order to increase this skill he had to move the magic through his body and further outwards than before. Doing this he had realized that magic traveled through the body through paths that were similar to veins and the further he guided his magic the longer the veins became. Despite the magic veins being rather small those with an elemental affinity could still take magic out of their body's by moving the magic into their muscles and make it travel that way.

The downside to traveling the magic through their muscles was that alot was lost during the journey and that it was many times harder to move it through their muscles than their magic veins. John decided for everyone to stay in the school until the 6th day of the disaster so that they could gather their strength and fully understand the mechanics of magic.

After around ten hours of them training they slumped onto the grass in exhaustion, with the body's starting to Rot everyone had layed down further away from the corpses. A little while before they had given a funeral to everyone who had died during the battle by making a large pile and using Terry's elemental affinity burned them to ashes before saying a prayer for their souls to rest in the afterlife.

Whilst slumped down John used his (heightened senses) skill tuned to the max just to make sure that they wouldn't get snuck up on but despite this something appeared in the middle of their resting area. It looked like a person who stood around 7ft with a baggy grey cloak covering their size and build, preventing them from knowing its gender. The hood covering its head didn't help either as all they could see under it was a blanket of darkness which they couldn't see through.

Everyone jumped up and aimed their weapons towards it, ready to attack at a moments notice. It looked around at them all as it stood still, it's head Turing a full 360° before snapping back to its original position. Opening its mouth it spoke in a strange voice which sounded neither human nor animalistic.

"well, this certainly isn't the welcome I hoped for. Why don't you but those sticks down." it spoke signalling towards their weapons

John looked at the strange creature as the cogs spun in his head. After a few tense seconds John decided to place his dagger away and take a couple steps towards the creature.

"what do you want?" John asked plainly his words signifying neither that of a friend or foe

"I wish to help, young one." it spoke in its strange voice.

"my name is vlymit and im nought but a humble merchant." it spoke with what sounded like a smile.

Everyone slowly put down their weapons after seeing John walk up to vlymit calmly. John watched the merchant closely as he waited for it to continue. Seeing John stare intently the merchant decided to elaborate further.

"you can give me items that you've gained from monsters or treasure chests in exchange for information, armour, weapons, skills and energy rejuvenation potions or what your species call 'health pots' from what I've seen of your culture." vlymit spoke informatively

John smiled after hearing this. After all its just like those npcs you find in video games. After a quick second of thought John immediately dumped every item in his inventory other than one hundred bones, skin pieces and a couple other miscellaneous items aswell as thirty six skill stones for them to use.

"what can i get for all of this." John asked with a smile

Vlymit looked at the boy infront of it and thought in surprise about the spatial magic that this boy could use. Despite this Vlymit started calculating the market price of everything there and lowered it to reach his buy price. After doing all this he decided to be extra helpful in attempts to make a lasting impression, he decided to use some of the money for the group in order to give them items that would be useful for them.

"you sure are impressive, boy." Vlymit spoke in joy

"so this stuff is good then?" John asked as he was completely unfamiliar with the currency used by the merchants aswell as the quality and demand of the items he had.

"goblin bones, although being rather weak, are usable by some races and can be sold to them. Skill stones are always in demand as some of the skills are highly useful with the goblins heightened senses, dark vision and weapon proficiency skills being the most useful for the strong. The armour can be sold of to either weaker races or to children of the stronger races as their starter kits or melted or deconstructed for materials." Vlymit continued with the quality of the materials gained aswell as the way they could be used for once sold of.

John's face turned pale when he heard about the equipment being sold to other races. If that happened wouldn't that make them stronger?
