Chapter Five
{2 weeks has passed by since the hospital incident, and it's now friday the day of graduation.}

Do you ever wish you could just break all the damn alarm clocks? because that's how I'm feeling right about now, all I wanted to do is fucking sleep.
I am literally about to throw this stupid damn clock across the room but I won't because I don't got time to be buying another one.
I smashed my hand over the little bell shutting it up and laid back down, just when I was about to fall back into heaven my door swung open.
"Zoe Hayes get you butt up and get ready for school" my brother said standing against the door frame. Uggh can't I get some damn rest round here? he is practically my dad since ya know our poor of an excuse of parents left us.
"Geez nic it's like eight in the fucking morning I wanna sleep" I whinned
"Yeah well I wanna sleep too but am I? No so you're gonna get your lazy ass up and take a shower rather you like it or not" he hissed
"Hey!" I cried out as he picked me up taking me to the bathroom putting me down and leaving me.
I huffed and turned on the shower as I stripped and hopped in taking a quick shower.
Once I got out of the shower I put on the silver heart earrings my nona gave me and threw on a beige long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and boots. I grabbed my brown bag and threw my hair up in a messy bun applying a little make up and jogging downstairs.
I walked into the kitchen expecting to see my brother but saw no one. Arching my brow I went over and fixed myself a plate of bacon grits and eggs pouring me a glass of orange juice sitting down at the table and stuffing my face.
"Your eating like you've been starving for days dear"
I looked up meeting eyes with my mum, I put on a fake smile and replied back "well..I didn't eat dinner last night plus this bacon is rocking my world right now."
"You know...as child you always loved bacon, you love to eat food regardless" she said chuckling a bit and smiled showing a hint of pain.
"I'll see you later at your graduation" she walked out the kitchen and i heard the front door open then close.
I stood up from the table and washed my plate chugging my juice down and grabbing my phone and bag heading out the door.
I hoped in my car putting my seatbelt on and turning the radio on knowing it will take about 15 minutes before I arrived at school.

I arrived to school within 20 minutes and parked in the front, there was a a lot of cars here, which i'm guessing belong to teachers, students, and parents.
When i walked in, i saw my friends chatting with their parents before heading off to class.
I made it to first period class which was world history.
"OMG seriously?" she said jumping in her seat.
"Yeah, I just have to figure out how to get there" I said trying to keep my voice down.
"Well once today is over we can finally live life" elle said
"I'm scared and nervous, but also exited" I replied back.
"I know zoe, but hey look at this way we're going to Paris france!!" elle shouted having some people look over at us.
"Shhh, I know, now keep your damn voice down" I hissed out.
"Do you want to share something with the class?" Ms.Diarz announced and we both shook our head saying no
"Well I suggest you be quiet and pay attention, just because today is the last day doesn't mean you can be loud and do what you want." Ms. Diarz said going back to talking and walking around the room.
After the bell rung kids started to fill the hallways, opening their lockers, and reuniting with their friends.
Flash back From beginning of school year
As i looked around you could see the cliques. Everyone was standing in groups, as i was standing there i wonder what group i would be with the popular group, the really smart group of may i would be a loner. Haha yeah right i am faaaaar from a loner.
I walked over to the popular group and they just looked at me like I Wes some alien so I rolled my eyes and went to where the smart kids were and honestly I didn't feel comfortable so I was a loner until I met Elle, mark, Alex, and Sam we hung out every day and even went in trips together I'm so glad to have them

After standing for like 3 minutes thinking to myself i heard another bell rang indicating it was time to get to 2nd period class which was AP math.
well here goes nothing, i mean i'm good at math but it get kinda boring after a while if you know i mean.

Overall the day was calm. All we did was chat with each other and watch whatever the teach had put up on the projector screen and talk about what we have planned for after college.
Most of my teachers were laid back today and didn't really care what we did as long as we kept our voice down and what not.
Well it was towards the end of the day now and we had lunch now. At this school there are 7 blocks and 8 blocks and i was going to 8 block lunch period. I wasn't really looking forward to lunch because honestly i just wanted to graduate and get the hell out of this school, Yes i'm gonna miss everyone as in my friends and teachers but i wanna go.
I walked into the cafeteria and went through the lunch line grabbing a bag and throwing my food in there which consisted a cold ham and cheese sandwich, white milk, juice and an apple.
Once getting that i went back to my class room along with the other students sitting down and taking a seat as the teacher put on movie for us to watch until after we we're done then we would go back down to the cafeteria which is where the graduation will happen.
Everyone finished eating and the teacher turned off the movie and told us to clean up and to pack everything, and to not leave anything behind because this will be the last time we will see the class room again.
It was time for the graduation ceremony, we went into the cafeteria where they handed out the gowns for the students to wear. I grabbed mines and went into the girls bathroom putting it on and applying a little bit more make-up. As i was leaving my friend Nicole came in to do her own make-up so i just stayed in there and sat on the counter as we chatted for a bit until she was done.
We exited out of the room and made out way down the stair case going into the cafeteria sitting at one of the tables that was facing the stage. I looked around and saw my aunt smiling along which my "parents" which surprised me because I haven't saw them in about a couple weeks or so besides my mom who was in the house earlier. I thought i might have passed out or something, they smiled at me and i smiled back looking over at my brother who was also sitting in the crowd mocking our parents which made me giggle to my self.
"Hello everyone and thank you for coming to the graduation of 2023 phillip high school students, i am so proud of all my students for making it this far thrughout this school year. All my students scored well on their tests and i couldn't be any more proud of you all for working hard and studying. I know i was hard on you guys but the outcome of it all was worth it, and i hope all of you have big dreams to go after and remember things in the world aren't easy, but don't let it keep you down. Go for what you want and believe in. I believe in you and so do your parents, make us proud.
Everyone clapped and then they started calling everyone up one by one onto the stage to receive their diploma.
After everything happened everyone went their own way and talked to friend taking pictures and dancing to the music they we're playing inside of the building.

I arrived home and threw off my cap and gown plopping down on my bed exhausted.
I guess I fell asleep because the next thing I remember was waking up and seeing it was dark outside.
I got up and went downstairs to see if there was dinner made and nothing was nothing but a note.
Note:
Hey Zoe I didn't wanna wake you because you looked peaceful sleeping, but I wanted to tell you me and your father left for a while. We both "love" you and we will be back , your father has left you some money downstairs in the dresser, don't lose it and don't spend it all at once. I have to go but remember I "love" you and so does your father and check in with your little brother every now and then bye.

I sighed and went back upstairs getting back into bed and falling asleep.
