The Five Hegemony.
That was how the five largest tech companies in the modern era were dubbed.
Mapple, Digitalverse, Nencentte, Neuroconnected, and Macrosoft.
These five companies did something that left the tech world completely stunned. They had combined into a larger entity while each becoming a side branch of said entity.
Why did they make such a massive decision?
Simple, it was to create a game.
Sounds absurd, bordering on stupid?
Well, you're completely wrong because, with Neuroconnected knowledge of Nanotechnology and Neurotechnology, and Digitalverse's superior technology with creating a "Digiverse" as they call it, as well as Nancentte's skills in game production, this game is unlike anything mankind has seen before.
It was a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game(V.R.M.M.O.R.P.G.) where players can experience 100% immersive gameplay.
On the first day on the market, after an extensive market campaign by the Five Hegemony, it sold over four hundred million game capsules worldwide.
The Five Hegemony used a marketing strategy where they lower the price of the game capsules so it was easier for even middle-income families to afford it.
Their return profits came from the fact that with this many users actively playing the game, other major companies would start to invest in it.
Banks, who would convert the game's currency into actual money. Multi-million dollar sports conglomerates would want to hold tournaments for professional players of the game, and even Multi-billion dollar fashion conglomerates would design clothes for top players' avatars, making sure their sales increase in the game as well as real life.
This game has completely impacted the entire world in ways that no one could have predicted.
By now you're probably wondering what kind of game this is. and what was it called?
Well, with Nencentte being the side branch of the company responsible for developing the game, and seeing that they were a company originally from China, the game developers decided to base the game on Ancient Chinese Fantasy. Where players practice "Qi Cultivation" to reach immortality in the game.
The game was thus called Road To Immortality.
This premise was an instant hit for all who started playing it, and everyone became obsessed with it. Especially because of the massive universe they had created as well as the supposed legendary hidden storyline within the game.
The amount of A.I. computing and coding required to create such a massive game, and it not having a single bug, made every other gaming companies want to commit seppuku with a ragged kitchen knife.
Nencentte had come out and said that they had wanted to create a game as massive as this for years, and they had been developing the game elements, but only thought the creation of it to be impossible with their current technology and funding.
They only saw an opportunity to create it when Digitalverse came to them and offered to form an alliance with them and the other members.
It was Digitalverse founder and CEO, Sam Hackerburg, that had the ambition to form this massive tech alliance with the goal of creating a world where everyone could be connected even if they were on the other side of the planet.
When Nencentte put forth the idea to create this 100% immersive game, Mark Hackerburg had immediately latched onto the idea.
Now with the Five Hegemony working together, they had become the largest and most powerful tech company worth over 9 trillion dollars!
However, it was about time we get to the real focus and mention the other company that took advantage of this game and rise equally as fast as them.
B.O.S.
Bolivian Online Streaming.
A company created from the two biggest online streaming companies, Boogle and Switch.
These two companies having been left out of the Five Hegemony Alliance decided to take a different route in the market, instead of competing with the five large tech giants.
They pool their resources together and went all-in with the online streaming community. What they fed to the public was the possibility of live streaming players within the games.
At first, no one took notice of them, but when people realized how massive the game was and how information on the top players was limited, some people found a chance to make bank, and so, they started live-streaming the top player progressing through the game and completing major and minor quests.
With this, millions of people who have their favourite players would tune in onto B.O.S. servers to watch them play Road To Immortality.
Soon enough this live streaming trend gained traction and kicked off, making B.O.S.'s revenue shoot up into the trillions right behind the Five Hegemony.
Seeing this, the Five Hegemony came to a decision to work with B.O.S. and assist them to make the game streaming more smoothly as this was extremely beneficial for the game's growth. So, they and B.O.S. signed a contract where B.O.S. agreed to pay them a commission to allow the game capsules to have a feature to live stream on B.O.S.'s servers.
They had even created a streamer name tag for players who decided to become a B.O.S. streamer.
B.O.S. also went further to create a news channel where events in the game would be reported, and streamers could submit the offline streams they did to them for a lucrative fee.
Now Top Players and Top Streamers became celebrities and idols to the younger and older generation while making millions of dollars by signing sponsorship deals with numerous multi-billion dollar companies and conglomerates.
Though, to become any one of the two for a regular person sounded difficult to near impossible.
Especially becoming a Top Streamer, because you would have to gain a solid viewer fanbase starting from scratch, in the already saturated streaming community.
No one had ever thought of becoming both at the same time since the time and effort it would take to do them separately was already difficult. It would take several years to reach a satisfying level in any one of the professions.
But who knows, maybe there was someone with the right skillsets and circumstances out there who could accomplish such a feat.
Maybe that someone could become the greatest B.O.S. streamer ever.
And maybe also take the legendary number one player position in the game while they're at it.
All and all you'll never know until you read this story I'm about to tell you. And trust me, you have never, and will never, read a story as awesome, completely ridiculous, and borderline crazy as this one.
So strap in your seat belts, and get ready to read my journey, my legend, of How I Became The Greatest B.O.S Streamer in the world.
Ahh, you'll also see how I dominate the player rankings despite being a "Streamer Leach" as those annoying top players call us. So yeah, come read my journey to the absolute peak!
Though from a slow and uninteresting start.
