“I didn’t do anything!”
Rain ran her hands through her hair in frustration. She’d paced the new room, one with no windows and only a single metal door.
Orion leaned on the wall, frowning as he watched her pace back and forth.
“You saw me! I didn’t even touch him! How can you accuse me of poisoning a child?” Rain shouted, throwing her hands in the air.
“I’m not accusing you,” Orion said, perfectly calm. That mask of his was back on full force. She itched to carve it off. “But there are a few peculiarities. Ronan was fine until your visit.”
“Your visit!” Rain pointed out, shoving her pointer finger under his chin furiously, “Vikas suggested I go! Why aren’t you questioning him?”
“Vikas is my beta. He would never hurt anyone in this pack.”
“And I would?” Rain spat out.
The two fell into silence. Pain shone in his eyes, but he didn't answer.
Rain flinched back as he had struck her. “You really think I did this? That I would hurt an innocent child?”
