Chapter 13: A New Group

Moments after she had left, Demon had an awkward expression on his face.

"Graceful Lilies is one of the top echelons of Ouroboros. Luckily, it seemed like she wasn't too angry at us for some reason," Demon stated as he smiled wryly.

As he had stated, Graceful Lilies was one of three vice-leaders within the Ouroboros Guild. These three people only had to answer to the Guild leader himself.

Hegen simply smiled and responded to Demon's worry calmly.

"She simply noticed who was in the right and who was not. We probably will not have to worry about Ouroboros for the time being, but Harrowing Owl may be a separate issue."

The others seemed confused but didn't push as to why or how he understood such a situation just took place. They quickly regained their composure and completed the rest of the journey towards the village, able to fully be at ease within the safe zone of the city.

They made their way back to the Crying River Bar and were lucky enough to get the third room again as well. They quickly ordered a round of drinks, immediately finishing them off as soon as they arrived in the room.

Style was the first to finish his drink and thusly began talking about their recent trip.

"We made a good haul from this task. The buyer completed his quest as soon as we had killed the Silent Devourer so we've already gotten our payment. We each get 30 silvers from that, as well as our items we got from the boss and Ouroboros."

Slumber, who had appeared to not have been paying attention, surprisingly asked a question.

"So now that we've finished the task, do we have any more tasks or are we done for now?"

Demon, who was slowly sipping on his drink, put it down and responded as he was the one in charge of selecting which tasks were up to par for their group and which ones weren't.

"For now everyone can do their own thing and level up, we probably won't have another task for a long while.

This statement made everyone noticeably excited and they all quickly finished their drinks before excusing themselves one by one. Soon, only Hegen, Demon, and Slumber remained. Although Slumber had asked the question, he wasn't particularly concerned as most of his time went into drinking and sleeping.

Surprisingly, however, Hegen saw that although Slumber was truly sleeping, his posture never dropped and he remained slightly attentive throughout it all. He was truly a sleeping expert!

Ignoring Slumber, Demon turned to face Hegen before asking what he was going to do now.

"I have a quest to deliver a letter to Marian City, so I'm going to complete that and see where that takes me," Hegen responded.

"Got it. Just make sure that if we really need you then you'll be able to come to help us if possible." Demon asked, slightly worried.

To respond to him, however, Hegen simply nodded and this small gesture made Demon relax. He had noticed how strong Hegen was, and was sure that he wasn't using his full strength either. With a member like this on call, they didn't have to worry too much while exploring the world.

After sharing a few more pleasantries with Demon, Hegen exited the bar and the village altogether. Shortly after exiting the main gate of the village, he noticed that there were a large number of people on the side of the street calling out. He hadn't noticed this the first time when he was with Dynasty as he was too distracted. Curious, he walked towards one of the groups that was calling out.

"Heading to Marian City. Looking for one mage. Must be level five or higher." The player called as a small group lingered in front of him. Hegen approached this man, and asked to join his party.

The man asked for his name and sent him a friend request. This friend request allowed him to see Hegen's main class and level. Satisfied, he quickly pulled Hegen to the side where a small group was already waiting. They were all adequately geared, each having a few uncommon pieces of equipment with one even having a rare weapon.

The player who was calling out introduced himself as Arching Prowler and his class was a thief. He had a perfect disposition for a thief and Hegen would've assumed this as his class as well. He had a natural hunched back and sported a hooded cloak that obscured most of his face.

Next to him was a shorter girl who looked awkward and nervous. She was standing slightly distanced from the rest of the group and was evidently partying with the group to make it safely to Marian City. She introduced herself as Opaque Lancer. Surprisingly, she was a warrior and was going to be the main tank of the group. Hegen didn't mind this outcome as he wouldn't be relying on someone else to protect him anyways.

In between Opaque Lancer and Hegen, surprisingly, was Slumber. Slumber hadn't noticed Hegen as he was sleeping, and Hegen didn't notice Slumber for the same reason, he was sleeping! Seeing this, Hegen explained that there was no need to wake up Slumber as he already knew who he was. Hegen was glad to see Slumber as the healer of the group as he had already witnessed Slumber's precise timing and usage of his spells, allowing the other members of the group to act with much more poise than normally possible.

Lastly, a woman in between Slumber and Hegen introduced herself as Clouded Skies. She was the berserker of the group.

After everyone, except Slumber, introduced themselves, they got to know each other a little more for a short while before setting off toward Marian City.
