"Mommy!!" shouted Joy as she came out of the toilets, and Natasha looked towards the toilet and she smiled and she waved at Joy.
"Mommy!!" called Joy once again with a smile as she run to where Natasha was standing along with Pete.
"Mommy, I am back" said Joy as she hugged Natasha.
"Welcome back my baby" said Natasha as she looked down and she smiled.
"Did you wash your hands my baby??" asked Natasha
"Mhmm yes I did Mommy" said Joy as she nodded.
"Good girl" said Natasha as she smiled.
"It would seem that we are twins today" said Natasha.
"I also need to go and use the toilet" she said as she laughed.
"Yayyy me and mommy and twins" said Joy as she laughed too and Natasha laughed even more.
"Pete would you mind watching Joy for me?" asked Natasha as she looked at Pete.
"That is not even aa question" said Peter as he smiled.
"I would love to" he said as Natasha laughed.
"Sweetie go with your Uncle Pete, and be a good girl, I will be back soon" said Natasha as she looked at Joy.
"Okay Mommy" said Joy as she walked to where Pete was standing and she held his hand which made Pete smile.
"Don't worry Nat, we will just go sit at the bench over there" said Pete as he pointed to a nearby wooden bench.
"Alright then, see you soon" said Natasha as she smiled at Joy and then at Pete as she walked to the restroom.
"Let's go and sit down Princess" said Pete as he looked down at Joy.
"Okay" said Joy as she smiled and she and Pete walked hand in hand and the sat down on the bench, Joy's feet could not reach the ground yet so her legs looked like they were floating in the air.
"Uncle Pete can I ask you a question?" asked Joy as she looked at Pete.
"Sure Princess you can ask me anything you want" said Pete as he looked at Joy and he smiled.
"Uncle Pete, do you know my daddy??" asked Joy as she looked at Pete.
"Ahh well yes, I do know your daddy" said Pete as he looked at Joy.
"I met him too when I first met your mother, which was a long time ago" said Pete as he explained.
"Are you and my daddy friends uncle Pete??" asked Joy.
"Well Princess, we are not very close, but you could say that we are friends" said Pete as he answered Joy's question, he wondered why she was asking these questions, but it was not weird, she was a child after all, and it was normal for her to ask many questions.
"Oh" said Joy.
"Yes" said Pete as he looked at Joy, she seemed hesitant to speak any more, but she seemed to push out her question.
"Uncle Pete, do you know that my mommy and daddy do not love each other??" asked Joy as she looked at Pete she looked sad.
Pete was a bit taken aback, no he was not a bit, he was seriously taken aback, why would Joy ask him that question?? But he was not going to lie to her, it was true that Natasha and Dom did not love each other.
"Princess, where did you hear that??" asked Pete as he wanted to be sure.
"Well my mommy said so herself" said Joy as she looked at Pete.
"My mommy does not love my daddy, and my daddy does not love my mommy" said Joy.
Pete wondered why Natasha would tell Joy such, even though it was true, but Pete could decipher that Joy was not happy with this at all, she did not even hide her unhappiness in the first place.
"My mommy says that people fall out of love, maybe because they get tired or, they do not like the person anymore" said Joy.
"Your mommy is right Princess" said Pete as he did not know what to say to console Joy, he had never had to console a child before.
"Adults go through things, and they fall out of love sometimes Princess" said Pete as Joy looked at him with her big brown doe eyes.
"But I want them to be in love" said Joy sadly, she wanted her parents to be together.
"Sometimes we do not always get what we want Princess" said Pete as he sighed, he was going to tell Joy nothing else but the truth, he was not going to give her nay false hope that would crush her tiny little heart.
Her parents had a very complicated relationship, in fact their relationship was more than complicated, it was messed up, things that were unforgivable, and irreparable happened between them.
And Pete hated Dom for not even believing Natasha over everyone else, even when he was supposed to be her husband that was supposed to be the first one to support and believe her, but he did not.
"Uncle Pete are you in love??" asked Joy as she looked at Pete, and he was once again taken aback with the questions of this little girl, she really did not act her age at all.
Joy could be very shy and reserved with strangers, but once she knew you, and she was comfortable with you, she could say anything to you.
"Yes Princess, I am in love, but the woman I am in love with does not know, and even if she did, she could never love me back" said Pete sadly.
"Aww Uncle Pete, I am sure that once you show her that you love her, she will love you back" said Joy.
"You are tall, and handsome, and you are cool, and you are a cool police officer" said Joy
"Haha" laughed Pete.
"I am flattered princess" he said as he laughed, Joy really was Natasha's daughter, she could make him laugh very easily.
"Yes Uncle, I am sure if you tell her, she will love you too" said Joy as she laughed.
"Princess, how do you know all this??" asked Pete as he looked at Joy, he could not believe that he was receiving valid Love advice, from a four year old right now.
"Well from the cartoons on tv" said Joy.
"Well those cartoons are really dangerous" said Pete as he laughed, when he was her age, he never knew about love like this, she really was advanced for her age, and those new cartoons showing nowadays needed to be screened.
"Oh princess, If only that was possible" said Pete to himself as he thought on Joy's advice, it was impossible it would never work, the woman he loved was always to far out of his reach, even though she was right there, she never loved him in that way, and she loved someone else.
"See Uncle, everything will be fine" said Joy and Pete laughed, he could not believe that he was being reassured by a four year old, oh how funny life was.
"What are you two talking about??" asked Natasha as she walked to where Pete and Joy were sitting and chatting.
"Mommy!!!" said Joy as she looked at Natasha excitedly.
"Me and Uncle Pete were talking about love, and Uncle Pete said that he was in love with someone, but she does not love him back" said Joy and Pete sighed a long and hard sigh, now he was going to have a lot of trouble from Natasha.
"Wait, wait??" said Natasha.
"Pete you are in love??" she asked and Pete did not make eyes contact with her.
"And you did not tell me???" she said
"What a friend you are" said Natasha.
"Oh Nat, you really are not serious" said Pete as he laughed.
"Mommy Uncle Pete is in love, we should help him" said Joy and Pete looked at Joy in shock, just who's side was she on???
"Yes... yes we should my baby" said Natasha as she looked down at Joy.
"So tell me Pete, who is the lucky lady??" asked Natasha as she was very curious, just who did the great Peter Lawson love so much that he still could not get her??
"You do not need to know" said Pete as he turned away.
"Aww Pete, come on, we can help you win her heart" said Natasha as she winked and Joy nodded and Pete sighed.
It was a bad idea to want to meet Joy, these two were two peas in a pod, it was like they were exactly the same person, except for one was four, and she was short and cute.
"I do not need you help" said Pete.
"Aww my darling, your Uncle is shy, we need to help him" said Natasha as she looked at Joy.
"Yes Mommy" said Joy as she nodded.
"No no" said Pete as he could not believe what was going on right now.
"Joy do you want some Ice cream??" asked Pete.
"Oh yes, yayyy, yayyyyy" said Joy as she almost jumped for Joy.
"Alright Princess" said Pete as he stood up.
"Let's go get you some ice cream" he said and Joy followed after him, Pete sighed in relief his distraction worked.
"I know what you are doing Pete" shouted Natasha as Pete and Joy walked to go and get Ice cream.
"Yeah yeah" said Pete as he sighed.
