1980 Memories III

Early the next day.

"Good Morning Larry" said Ivanka as she smiled and she looked at Larry as he walked into his office as she was tidying up his office quickly.

"Good Morning" said Larry as he was almost startled, he was really not getting used to someone having to be by his side for all his working hours, it was actually very weird.

"How was your evening?" asked Ivanka as she smiled, she noticed that he did not call her by her name, was it because he was scared to or was it something else?

"Good" replied Larry as he removed his coat and he hung it on the rack and he sat down at his desk.

"Did you give Mr. James the documents?" asked Larry as he looked at Ivanka, she had her hair in a ponytail today, and she wore a black pencil skirt and she had a white shirt tucked into the skirt.

"Yes I did, and he seemed very happy about it, he was very thankful" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Ha, I doubt that" said Larry as he said that out loud, he was used to saying things to himself, but now he would have to change that, Ivanka was going to be with him at all times.

"What do you mean?" asked Ivanka as she smiled.

"Ah…" replied Larry as he realized that he had spoken out loud.

"Well Mr. James is not a very nice man, he can be pushy" said Larry as he replied casually.

"I get you, I also find him annoying" said Ivanka as she smiled, she really did not like the guy, the way his eyes moved around her just annoyed her, it was clear what he wanted, and his niceness to her was vague… that was what Ivanka liked about Larry, he was not like other men, she knew that she was crazy to say that after they had only just met yesterday, but she could tell that he was different, she could feel it, he was.. himself.

"Good to know… just be careful around him, I believe he is dangerous" said Larry as he replied.

"Well I am dangerous as well" replied Ivanka without thinking as she realized what she had just said when she saw Larry look at her and she realized that she was getting too comfortable, she was never one to blurt and yet here she was doing the opposite.

"I see, shall we get started on work?" asked Larry as he shrugged off her statement, he thought that she must have been joking.

"Ahh yes yes, I am very eager to learn" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Alright then, hand me the folder that has the year 1989 written on it" said Larry.

"Is it this one?" asked Ivanka as she found the folder from the drawer and she showed it to Larry.

"Yes it is" replied Larry as he took the folder from her.

"So what I would like you to do is review the information here, and compare it with what is written here, if there are some holes, just readjust the information, but if there is nothing at all wrong with the information, then just leave the document as it is" said Larry.

"Alright" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Can you do that?" asked Larry as he looked at her.

"Yes I can" said Ivanka as she smiled and she nodded her head.

"Alright then" said Larry as he handed her the folder and she walked to sit across him as she got busy on what she was tasked with as Larry went on to focus on his own work.

He would occasionally glance at Ivanka as he saw her very engrossed in what she was doing, she looked very focused and serious, Larry was impressed, she was always smiling, but she could be serious when she needed to be.

Larry stopped looking at her as he focused on his own work, hours passed as neither of them said a word, Ivanka was very quiet as she made some adjustments, and well Larry, he was used to being all alone and quiet, he thought that with Ivanka here that would change, but that was not so, she was very quiet as well, he admired her seriousness.

"I am done adjusting, some figures made no sense" said Ivanka as she handed the folder back to Larry.

"I see, well first rule, our job is to right down what we see, and nothing else" said Larry as he looked at Ivanka.

"I see" said Ivanka.

"So what do we do now that some things don't add up?" asked Ivanka.

"Well I will give this to Mr. Richardson, he is the one that ordered I asses all the firm's records" said Larry.

"I see" said Ivanka as she smiled at him.

"Oh look at the time, it is alright 5pm" said Ivanka as she looked at her watch and she laughed, she did not even notice that she had not gone for lunch, she did not feel hungry at all.

"You can go home then, I need to take care of some things" said Larry.

"Alright" said Ivanka as she smiled and she stood up.

"Have a nice evening" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"The same to you" said Larry as Ivanka walked away, one thing he had noticed about her was that she was very capable.

Over the past few weeks, Larry had gotten used to seeing Ivanka every day, she was always there, she would always smile at him and greet him, and he had to admit that he was getting used to her being there, she would talk and he would listen, and when it came time to work, they would both work seriously, Larry never thought he could have a partner, but Ivanka was there to prove him wrong.

Larry had already arrived at the office, and it had been an hour and Ivanka was not here yet, which was weird, because she was always the first one to arrive, and well he was starting to get worried.

"Oh so sorry I am late, my train was late" said Ivanka as she hurriedly walked into Larry's office as she sighed, she was heaving slightly, as if she had been running.

"That is alright" said Larry as Ivanka brought out an envelope from her handbag.

"So I was doing some more adjustments, and well I found something that I did not understand" said Ivanka as she gave the envelope to Larry and he opened it up.

"Right here" said Ivanka as she leaned in closer to Larry and she pointed to what she found weird, Larry could smell her scent, she smelled like fresh cinnamon.

"I see, well it is a common error, we basically do nothing in this case" said Larry as he explained.

"Ahh, I see, thank you" said Ivanka as she smiled and she turned to look at Larry.

"You are welcome" said Larry as he smiled.

"I like your face, and your smile… you look better when you smile" said Ivanka as she blurted out and she smiled, she had been observing him for a while now, and he never smiled and now that he did, his face truly looked younger.

"*Ahem*, I see" said Larry as he cleared his throat and he did not know what to say.

"Thank you… no one has ever said that to me before" said Larry.

"Are you sure?? Because I am sure that they have, or else they are blind" said Ivanka as she laughed, she just felt like she could trust Larry.

"They are not" said Larry as he smiled, he did not know whether to compliment her as well, because she was truly a very attractive woman, but he was sure that many people had told her so.

"Hey, the other colleagues are throwing a party for the salary increase, would you like to come along with me?" asked Ivanka with a smile, she liked Larry he was nice.

"I don't usually attend those things" replied Larry.

"I know, they told me so" said Ivanka as she laughed.

"But I would like it if you came along with me" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"We have a lot of work here" said Larry.

"I know we do, but I am sure we can finish them soon" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Alright then… we can go" said Larry.

"Oh thank you Larry, thank you" said Ivanka as she smiled, she felt like hugging him, but she would be stepping out of line if she did, and she was not sure if he would like that.

"For now, work must be done" said Larry.

"Of course, of course, right away" said Ivanka as she smiled and she rushed to organize the folders in the drawers, she was excited this was the first time she would see Larry out of work, it made her happy.

Larry smiled slightly and Ivanka could not see that, because she had her back turned to him, but he was happy as well, she was always smiling and so nice, it made him want to smile as well, which made him feel weird.
