Little rat

"Dad I am going out, see you in a bit" came Jean's loud voice from downstairs as Romanoff frowned and walked down to meet her.

"Going where?" asked Romanoff with a frown as he saw Jean doing her hair in the mirror.

"*Tisk* I told you that I would be going out tonight with a friend Dad, don't you remember?" asked Jean as she tisked and shook her head while checking her hair and being satisfied with the results.

"I do not remember Jeanie, and which friend is this?" asked Romanoff as he narrowed his eyes at her and she looked at him with a smile.

"Well just a friend from work" replied Jean with a smile as she put on some clear lipstick.

"Oh I see, and where exactly are you and this friend going?" asked Romanoff in a probing manner to which Jean did not seem to mind.

"Oh just to dinner, he invited me to dinner in one fancy place like this" replied Jean as she fixed her head for one final time.

"Oh he?" asked Romanoff as now it made sense why she was so dressed up, at first he thought she would just be going out, but when she mentioned a certain he, his suspicions were starting to kick in.

"Yes he" replied Jean.

"And this he is a friend from work?" asked Romanoff.

"Yes Dad, he works in the same department as me" said Jean as she grabbed her handbag.

"Name and age" said Romanoff in a stern tone as Jean laughed.

"John, and 27" replied Joy.

"Address" said Romanoff.

"Not important Dad, I'm not going to his house, it's only dinner and I will be back before ten" said Jean with a smile.

"Regardless I would like to know some more about this… John" said Romanoff as the clear displeasure was vivid in his eyes.

"Don't waste your time doing a background check Dad" said Jean.

"It's no waste of my time Jeanie, what if you are not back before 10? I need to know where exactly you are" said Romanoff.

"Don't pretend Dad, I already know you implanted a tracker in my phone, I don't mind, just check it and see where I am, anyway I am running late, see you soon, and go pick up your phone it's been ringing for a while now" said Jean with a smile as she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and rushed out of the house before he could ask her any more questions.

Romanoff grunted as he frowned, he did not like the idea of his Jeanie going out with some guy that he had never met.

Romanoff cursed silently as the sound of his phone ringing caught his ears and he angrily walked upstairs and picked his ringing phone from the table.

"Alisa if you are calling me you better have found out where that bastard Igor is hiding" said Romanoff in a clearly annoyed tone.

"Well no, not yet, I haven't been able to pinpoint his location, he's been moving around a lot" said Alisa.

"Like the little rat he is" replied Romanoff in anger.

"He better return my gun in one piece, or else I will skin him alive!" said Romanoff.

"Calm down Romanoff, I doubt he would do anything to your gun, except he has really lost it" said Alisa.

"He better have It" said Romanoff angrily.

"Relax Romanoff when are you coming back? You have been away for so long" said Alisa.

"Why do I need to come back? Last time I checked I have no missions" said Romanoff.

"I know but does that mean that you have no intention to return?" asked Alisa as Romanoff scoffed.

"Of course not, but I would rather remain here" said Romanoff, he was really enjoying staying here with his daughter, he preferred being here rather than back home where he had a huge house but was still lonely.

He had learnt a lot about his daughter from staying here for the past few months, and he had no intention of leaving anytime soon.

"Besides, I heard that the MSC has set sail already, the shipment should be here in a matter of a few weeks and I would rather be the one to receive and check on the shipment myself when it arrives" said Romanoff.

"Oh well alright Romanoff, take care, and say hello to Jeanie for me" said Alisa with a smile.

"I would but she is not here at the moment" replied Romanoff.

"Where did she go?" asked Alisa.

"On a stupid date with some guy from work named John" said Romanoff with contempt as Alisa laughed.

"You better calm down Romanoff, Jeanie is not a little girl, she is a woman, and she is allowed to go out with whomever she wants, besides she is a good girl, I doubt she would date anyone fishy" said Alisa.

"What if she is not aware that he is fishy? I do not even care, I need you to do a background check on him" said Romanoff.

"Not a chance Romanoff, I am sure she told you not to waste your time, and what happened to the tracker you asked me to put in her phone? That should do" said Alisa.

"You are of no help at all" said Romanoff in annoyance, he hated the fact that he needed her for the technical things.

"On the contrary I am helping you not destroy the relationship with your daughter, so please get over it, and don't do anything that will make Jeanie be upset with you" said Alisa.

"I think that you should focus on your own life" said Romanoff.

"Well you were the one who involved me in this in the first place, I don't have time for this, rasslablyat'sya (relax)" said Alisa as she ended the call and Romanoff scoffed, Alisa was annoying.

A month later.

"Get me Lawson on the line" said Agent Dians as his voice was louder than the sound of the ac and multiple rings of telephones as a woman nodded at him and left his office and he picked up the black telephone on his desk.

"Lawson" called Agent Dians as he heard a voice from the other side of the line.

"Agent Dians, what a surprise, to what do I owe this blue moon call of yours today?" asked Pete with a smile.

"You are right, it is a blue moon call, anyway, I need you to contact that female friend of yours that approached me, I can't remember her name I think It was Natalia or something" said Agent Dians.

"Natasha" said Pete.

"Yes her" said Agent Dians.

"The workload must really be taking a toll on your memory" said Pete as he laughed.

"That is no lie, I need you to contact her for me" said Agent Dians.

"Alright no problem, but why don't you contact her yourself?" asked Pete.

"That woman is something else, I would rather not speak to her directly, she can make your mind blow up with all her talking" said Agent Dians as Pete laughed.

"I doubt that, Natasha isn't a talkative person, but her stubbornness and confidence is something to be matched with" said Pete as he smiled.

"That is the truth, the night she walked up to me, I was convinced that she was insane, but that's besides the point I need you to call her and tell her that the cargo ship has just been docked at the port" said Agent Dians.

"I am going to inspect it tonight by 9pm and I would appreciate it if she was present to declare everything she visibly knows is in the cargo for double confirmation" said Agent Dians.

"Alright, that won't be a problem at all Agent, I am sure she will be able to make it" said Pete.

"Good, thanks for the favour Lawson" said Agent Dians.

"Not a problem, how is your wife?" asked Pete with a smile.

"She is doing well, she went to visit her sister and she ran into your mother over there, she told me they had a great time catching up" said Agent Dians.

"I am glad to hear that, my mother loves anyone who can match up to her many stories" said Pete as he laughed and Agent Dians laughed, his wife's sister was the friend to Pete's mother's cousin. Just goes to show how truly small the world truly was, or maybe it was only their city that was small.

"The truth indeed, anyway talk to you later Lawson, thanks once again for the favour" said Agent Dians with a smile.

"Anytime Agent, Anytime" replied Pete with a smile and Agent Dians ended the call and went back to work, if there was one thing that he could say about Natasha it would be that she brought very valuable information to their doorsteps, the least he could do was to honour her request and make sure that her husband's company stayed out of bad light.
