"She might not have showed up because I have you."

"Why are you saying such things? why will you say she didn't show up because of me?" I stand from the blanket.

Is he trying to say it was my presence that stopped her from coming?

Is he trying to say I was cause of her not showing up? that I have somehow made her not to attend his birthday party.

"I didn't mean to make it sound as if you were the cause of her lack of absence, " he stood and came to stand directly in front of me.

"If that's not what you meant to say, what do you them mean by your words?" I take a step back to avoid being too close yo him.

Being close to him really affects my thoughts, and in so doing makes me talk without much thoughts.

"It means I don't have to wait for her since I have you. She might have known I've found another."

I can't believe his words. Do he think am somehow a rebound for his heart broken self?
