To Love An Alpha

At the sound of Carl's voice, I turned in surprise.

"Carl? What's wrong? Did you see Dan? Why isn't he with you?" I climbed down to meet her.

"He's in danger!" She shouted, "you need to save him!"

"Who's in danger?" I ran to her and knelt in front of her. "Where is Dan?"

"The blood suckers." She takes a deep, steady breath, "They got him."

"What?" I stood up from the floor.

"What's wrong?" Mother rushed towards us, "what happened? Who's in danger?"

I wanted to shout out. However, I did nothing of that sort.

Already aware of whom the mother is, I know telling her the news will only hurt her more.

So, instead of telling her what Carl told me, I smiled at her.

"You need to go back into the house. I will go and get Dan. Carl said he fell into a bloodsucker ditch. Don't worry, I will go alone. Just go inside and prepare dinner.
