Chapter 20

Chapter 20..............

Regan pov: -

With the energy I came up with, I turned my mind and body in Alex's grip. I turned, coming face to face with Alex, whose eyes could freeze the whole Niagara Falls. His stare down with his brother added too much to my dismay. When I looked back, Xavier's face was not any different than Alex's.

It was like he knew that there was something more than it looked like. With every calculating gaze he sent my way, I realized that it's hard for me to keep my loving face up, For the task of being an ideal girlfriend will not be that easy.

Alex's cold breath with a bit of warmth was sending shivers down my back.

Bad Regan, evil.!!!

I shook my not so wise thoughts out of my brain and cleared my throat to lower the level of tension in the room.

That was the biggest mistake I made cause the moment I did that, all those blazing eyes turned to me, pinning hundreds of needles in me with so much force I might have died, but like the other day, Xavier was there to rescue me again.

He clapped his hand, getting everyone's attention to center on him. With a light smile, he turned to his father, or may I say, fake father.

"What a tremendous coincidence it is that I met this beautiful lady on the street near a cafe. She was the one to lead me towards the British library the other day. How enchanted I am to see her over here and how glad I am to know that she is going to be my sister-in-law in no time".I realized that the big breath I kept holding could be let out. Thank god he did not bend the truth, or I would have been dammed.

His manners and accent were overflowing, but who am I to complain? That still does not reconcile well with the devil. I know he won't let it go this quickly, but if he believes I'm scared of him, then I will show him how frightened I am when I'm going to shove my foot up so far in his ass that he will have a new tongue by the end of the conversation.

"Isn't it just so nice of her to help you, Xavier? It was one of her qualities for which I fell for. She is the kindest girl that I came across." Alex said, bruising his chin on my neck.

Yeah, I remember I was the one who fell the day we met because someone can't see when they walk Bullsh*t fell for me.

I want to roll my eyes on that. If it were not for the show, I would have replied to him in all rainbow-dyed words by now.

I don't know if some other person standing in this room felt it, but the sarcasm dripping from his tone was like a Saber for my heart, but I guess Xavier was also the one who thought it cause suddenly his lips twisted downward.

This time, my soon-to-be mother-in-law was the one to rescue us from the war. She laughed at a not so funny comment from Alex and came forth.

"My beautiful daughter, I am going to shower you with all my love." She said, looking at me with adoration in her eyes.

"She means that she is dying to play dress the doll with you," Xavier remarked with a funny look.

"Oh, shush, Xavier, I am not going to do no such thing."

"Um, hmm, I don't know, mom. However, May I state that I would like to join you this time? It might be fun to dress my sister-in-law." He giggled like a girl, to which I gave him the deadliest look.

"Well, that's good we should start preparing for the wedding. Dear, you and Xavier will come with me for your dress shopping. And so, we will go for a cake tasting. Then, oh joy! My lord, how many things do I have to do in so less time? We should start on it now before it's too late," she said, pushing Xavier toward the front door.

"Is there anyone I should place on the guest list from your side? "Her question was a nice one, but

Do I? No, I don't think so.

I want to say yes, no scratch that I want to scream yes if no one but Shaw was the only one I want on this day, but I know if she is around, I won't be able to lie to her, and Alex will use her to put me down on every measure.

"No, Mrs. William, I don't have any family or friend so no one from my side," I replied, to which her eyes showed pity, and I would have scolded her, but I can't. I don't want the pity party right now.

"We should just get on it," she said to which I tried to move forward, but I was still barricaded in the devil's arms. His mother realizes it as well because she gave Alex a smirk.

"Alex, you should let her go. She cannot come to us with your keeping her captive like that."

Alex groaned behind me. "Mom, I barely got my wife back, and you want to take her away so fast.!!

Do you want to go, honey? We could go home after this and resume what we started in my room. He said while nuzzling his face along my neck, making me blush.

Bloody Lucifer, you better savor this as much as you can. Oh, how I wish to twist his neck in an ugly manner.

He wants to go home so he can return the favor for the kick I gave him in that room. I know he won't kick me, but I can imagine his nasty ways to penalize me.

The mere thought of it sent a thousand-volt shock down my spine.

(mother fu*ing Lucifer)

The demon knows how to act if he was not a businessman, he could win Oscar for his acting.

But what froze me to my place was when he started to trail soft kisses down my neck.

Darn,!!!!

The heat began to pool in some downer part of my body, stealing every breath from my lungs. I was trying hard not to give away a sound from the pleasure, but my body reacted so strongly with every kiss that I was losing the battle with my body—this traitorous body of mine.

Ghhhhh. Get a grip, girly. He is toying with you. I want to slap myself so hard, but now is not the time.

Saved by the angel, Xavier cleared his throat. "You know there are so many rooms in this house, Alex, you might put some purpose to them. We won't mind, you know. And if Regan can lower down her Mons, it would be marvelous.

"His lips twitching to let out a smile blast the brother my brain shouted. Too much for the rescuer. He was enjoying my moment of shame.

I elbowed Alex in the stomach when no one was looking, freeing myself from the death grip.

"Umm let's go, Mrs. William, "I whispered. I stepped closer to her in case Lucifer started going blasted.

We all need defense. But my behavior would have looked kiddish because she laughed and took my hand in hers, leaving the last look in the air.

I don't know what's so amusing about my moment of misery for her.

"Xavier, are you coming son I might need a hand on this trip since no other man here is capable of accompanying me to this trip. As your dad and Alex choice in clothes will be worse than a dog choice."

Her laughter roared throughout the hall, making me smirk when an image of Alex buying a dress ran through my brain. Darn, I could not agree more with her on this one. We passed by the butler and were out in no time for a long, long day.

Here we go for nothing.
