Not the Right person

“Lady Vienna! I mean, Duchess!” Huffed Roxy into her room.

“What is it?” She asked as she brushed her hair and stared at her reflection in the mirror.

“I need your advice.” Continued Roxy.

She nodded at that, waiting for her to continue, “About what?”

“About love.”

She stopped brushing her hair. Turning to Roxy, she faced her.

“Love?” She asked for confirmation and Roxy nodded. “Really? You’re

seriously asking me for advice?”

“I apologize, your grace. But it’s about Huxley.” She said.

“What happened?”

She sniffed, tears forming in her eyes. Standing up, Lady Vienna hugged her and stroked her hair, “Awe, my poor maid, I don’t want to see you crying like this. Tell me what that man does so I can cut off his balls.”

Roxy’s eyes widened at that, “No, please don’t do that!” She exclaimed. “I just…saw him laughing with the maids.”

Oh, the nerve of that guy. If I see him…Lady Vienna gritted her teeth in anger. “And?”

“I’m jealous. I don’t know what to do, your grace. I thought I was the only one. Please help me.”

She thought about it for a second, “You know Roxy, I know I’m perfect that’s why you came to me for advice. I'm good with swords, I’m clever, and I have it all..” she said proudly then sighed, “But I’m afraid one thing I don’t know is love.”

Roxy sniffed harder as tears and snot formed in her face. Lady Vienna grimaced at that.

“But you might be jumping to a conclusion. Huxley has been a very welcoming person. He won't cheat on you. Don’t jump to conclusions.”

It feels like she’s a hypocrite for saying that with Duke Raziel avoiding her.

“I saw him giving her a flower!”

Wew, really, it’s the innocent ones who always play around. “Wow, I never knew he would be this type. So he wants many girls for himself.

Lady Vienna snorted at the thought, then watched as her maid cry in front of her. She sighed, “You know Roxy, as much as I want to help, it’s better if you two solve this alone. Tell him what you feel about this.”

Roxy nodded at that, “Thank you, your grace. You’re the best!”

She grinned and watched as Roxy fled away excitedly.

Well, she might have said that as she didn’t have enough experience. If one could ask her about swords, she could recite them and their properties but this one is different.

The rest of the days was spent with Duke Raziel running away from Lady Vienna. He never went to their room and slept. Whenever they come across the hallways, Duke Raziel would pretend to be busy and go back to his study.

He was burying his face with work that he even did all the work for the next month.

Lady Vienna breathed in, not liking the situation. She spotted him going out of his study and she stood up, running after him. “Where are you going, Raziel?”

He saw her and was about to dash away but Lady Vienna held her arm to stop him.

“Na uh. Stop avoiding me.”

He gulped and sighed, giving up.“I’ll be going to the rogue guild.” He replied.

Lady Vienna clapped her hands at that, “Perfect, can I go too? I need to read books.”

He raised his eyebrows at her, “For what? We have books here.”

She pouted, badly wanting to come too. She’s bored to death and wants to take a nice fresh breath outside. She’s so sick of walking to the gardens that she even memorized the number of leaves falling there.

Lady Vienna pouted, “But the Sylvian Library has complete books…”

Staring at her, he hesitated before sighing, “Fine.”

That made Lady Vienna smirk in victory. They used the carriage and as usual, the ride was silent. When they had arrived at the library, Fedel gave her a look. “Why is she here, your grace?” He asked, feeling tired.

Duke Raziel shrugged. “She wanted to come. Let’s just get on with the meeting.”

“As you wish, your grace,” Fedel answered.

Lady Vienna tugged at Raziel’s shirt and looked at him, “So, before you start, can you give me a favor?”

He nodded.

“Please help me find my knight, Titus. He has disappeared for a long time now. He’s not usually like this.” Yes, they say that he has gone back to his home but he never left her for one week. This is new. And quite alarming. She couldn’t help but feel worried for him.

Duke Raziel raised his eyebrows at this, “Don’t mention another man in front of your husband.”

She stared at him deadpan. Is he crazy or being possessive too much? “He’s my knight. Of course, I will worry about him.”

Duke Raziel scoffed, “Then what will be the payment?”

She shrugged, “I don’t know. It’s up to you.”

Duke Raziel’s lips curved upward into a smirk at this, “Are you sure about that? Then keep your word. Sign this.”

Signing some papers, Lady Vienna let him do his thing with the other men in the guild and just went to the upper floor where the books were.

Actually, it was not the books that she wanted. She wanted to eavesdrop on their meeting to gather information but the walls were thick here so she wasn’t able to hear any word.

Cursing under her breath, she accepted her defeat and just gathered some books to read about boring dragons and curses, she sat down on the table and started to read.

A particular green-haired and green-eyed man came from the door and met her eyes.

He bowed in front of her, “Your grace.”

“Fedel.” She acknowledged him and asked, “What? Is the meeting done already?”

He shook his head no, “I’m afraid not, your grace.”

“Then what brings you here upstairs?” She asked.

He hesitated for a second before continuing, “Can I have a moment with you please?”

“Of course, sit down.”

“Thank you, your grace.” He said and did as he was told. He cleared his throat and adjusted his eyeglasses, “I want to talk about your relationship with the duke, your grace.”

She blinked at that, thinking it was much more important. “Oh, is that all? Well, we’re both fine. Why’d you ask, Fedel?”

“You haven’t seen it?” He inquired. He gulped, looking agitated and strangely nervous for whatever reason.

She pursed her lips curiously, “Seen what?”

At that answer, relief washed on his face. “Then good. You don’t have to worry yourself.”

Lady Vienna’s face wrinkled at that, not satisfied with his answer. “Fedel, tell me what you mean with that.”

“I’m afraid I’m not the right person who’ll tell you.” He said. “But please don’t tell the duke that I talked to you.”
