Quarantine

The next day there was Nina again locked in the main bathroom and would not let him in. He really protested that. He wanted the two of them to have more intimacy. In times of social isolation, being together 24 hours a day was almost an art, it required more creativity from couples and the gift of patience. Quarantine and living together, isolated from the rest of the world, brought with it several distinct phases, and regardless of these phases, married life itself was already laborious, imagine now with so much pressure and differences at the same time! The coexistence had never been so intimate over time.

People were recognizing their partners, their homes, their families and especially themselves. Knowing that they no longer had the option of being able to go out, even to refuse and stay at home, they could not simply go out or approach other people, not even the supermarket delivery person who delivered the groceries, this forced their proximity even more , as they only had each other at that time until all this passed. Not to mention that they wanted this interaction. They wanted to be together, they wanted to really know each other. And nothing better than living together on a daily basis.

The days went by and David was slowly gaining Nina's trust so she could get used to everything her body could offer in their intimate moments of pleasure. They started talking about it openly and Nina was already feeling comfortable after a few weeks. She still didn't dare to show him spontaneously how much control she had over her multiple orgasms and her squirts, but at least she'd stopped being reluctant to contain them every time David wanted to enjoy them.

Nina didn't expect anything from him. She made an imaginary download in her head and in her heart. In that program there were rules and convictions. Like for example, she knew that his life was totally the opposite of hers, that he would eventually have to leave, and she knew that she would not accompany him. I was aware that the two were just going through a phase together, and I was resigned to that. Or thought I was. I was convinced that an hour would all pass. And she couldn't let anything destroy her. Not even his absence.

She would use all her resilience and intelligence to get out of this entire situation. So she decided that for no time she would tell him that she loved him. And they wouldn't even talk about the future, they wouldn't make promises to each other, and they wouldn't expect anything in return but respect while they were together. They made a pact not to promise each other anything, no pledges of undying love, no declarations or games.

Nina didn't bother him at all. When he was assembling an entire computer equipment, or a mini-aircraft part, or preparing some sophisticated food that he had found the recipe somewhere on the internet, she would be absent, she would sit on the porch with her headphones on, listen her favorite songs, she read her books, practiced her dance choreographies. Sixteen dances a day. It was as if she wasn't there, but at the same time it was within reach of his hands, every time he felt the need to see her, he sought her out. And he sought her out often. She had never said no. He dropped everything he was doing and surrendered completely to her hands.

The two no longer knew what to do to stop sexually devouring each other. They joked about it all the time. David ended an appointment by video call or phone, and immediately sought out Nina's caresses. Sometimes she was sweaty, on her back, dancing with her headphones on and he would just sit comfortably in his chair and watch her dance. When Nina noticed, she got scared and stopped! He insisted that she continue and so she began teaching him to dance salsa, samba, forró, quizomba, reggaeton and various other types of dance, including a dance popular in Norway called “swing”.

The two of them always ended up in bed, or in the shower, or even on the floor after dance lessons. To make up for her, he trained her, they fought wrestling, boxing and bodybuilding. Both the fight and the dance required a lot of bodily closeness. In the dance the two entwined, sensualized, and in the fight their bodies became breathless, hot and it was as if the blood boiled in their veins. Everything led them to exalt their hormones. They also always ended these workouts with another type of stretch, in “bed”.

While other couples around the world began to re-evaluate their relationships due to the distance they had to keep from each other, Nina and David were becoming a real couple. There were very high rates of breakups during the quarantine. Other couples already separated faced the challenge of how to share custody of their children, which led many couples to decide to spend quarantine together because of their children, another positive point in the midst of this pandemic that has changed the lives of many people .

Many families gave their reports publicly on the internet detailing how they were getting along with each other during quarantine. Many other couples were civilly married during the quarantine. Due to the lack of entertainment, bars, parties, travel and restaurants, the internet had to reinvent itself during this period, and the digital age has never been so necessary to prevent people from feeling trapped, pressured and depressed at home.

Within a confinement, emotions can get under the skin, the senses are much more heightened, everything is more intense. This can be taken both positively and negatively for many couples.

Nina insisted on having her routine, her times to meditate, to grow and connect with other forms of spiritual knowledge. She didn't pressure him into anything, didn't charge him, didn't create expectations. It was just herself.

She saw him busy and tried to get busy too. He saw her busy and joined her in her breathing exercises, meditation and yoga. She also took advantage of the quarantine to take “online” courses, art, painting, makeup courses, took the opportunity to improve her English, began to learn a new language, and he improved his Italian, Spanish and French. She even resumed piano lessons. Everything she didn't have time to do before, but dreamed of doing, she did. Never has the digital age been so important and so evident!

April 27, 2020, and the number of infected people in the world exceeded 3 million people, more than 200 thousand deaths and more than 15 countries affected around the world.

David was always following updates about the pandemic on the news channels:

"Among them, the United States with almost 1 million infected, Spain with more than 200,000, Italy with almost 200,000, France with more than 164,000, Germany with more than 158,000, United Kingdom with more than 157,000", and the list stretched and changed in real time. There were constant changes between the numbers of infected, and the whole world was attentive following all the news.It was the passage Nina read, this time on Wikipedia.

Nina and David were following the situation that people were having to face every day after the pandemic had spread to the four corners of the world, while they tried to balance their mental health. So many changes, so much tragic news, so much suffering in such a short time... They were sensible people, down to earth, educated, studied and traveled. They had everything to get along better with this crisis than many other people who didn't have the same privilege. Yet there was no guarantee that money and comfort could make up for supposed emotional crises.
