Finally: The end!

Nina and David ended up accepting the entire interview to go live and signed an agreement. Marcus stopped shaking hands and said,

— It worked with Lady Di, it worked with Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso, it worked with Julia Roberts in a beautiful woman, and off screen too, when she married the cameraman in the film. It happened to Elvis and Priscilla. It worked with Megan and William, with Zac Efron who fell in love with a waitress in a coffee shop, and even with Patrick Dempsey, and it will work with you, my dear!

— You know what happened with them right? None of these couples had a happy ending! Look what they are doing with Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs.

— Hush-hush! I am not listening to you... since it's taboo breaking, I want to be one of the bridesmaids at the wedding along with the other women.

Everyone laughed. Nina, arm in arm with her friends, interrupted the laughter by answering:

— Ah! I'm sorry to disappoint you in this matter, but I don't plan on getting married or having kids or anything like that. I just want to be quiet in my corner, without too much fuss... Marcus clapped a few hands in protest, twisted his head to the side, rolled his hand and said:

"Dream, Alice!" Guys, every woman's dream is to get married! — Elena, Kara and Nina answered together:

- No, it's not! — Elena completed saying:

- Everyone's dream is to have their own money and not depend on anyone!

After a pleasant morning together, everyone said their goodbyes and David and Nina went back to their hotel room. They still had a few days left in town, and he had some work to do during his stay there. Nina did everything she could to convince Kara and Lyon to stay a few more days, but they couldn't. They had a thousand appointments. The farewell at the airport was very painful, even though they knew they would be in contact all the time, and that Nina would probably bring them close one day.

David couldn't forget what Nina had said about not getting married and not having children. He was waiting for the right moment to talk about it. When night came again without delay, and the two of them were lying down to sleep, huddled together like a shell, spooning, he kissed her head and asked:

“You weren't serious about never getting married, were you? What about never having kids? he asked, with all the calm in his voice.

“Rich…let's sleep! Today was a busy day. We'll have all the time in the world to talk about it one day. It is too early. We haven't even moved yet. We talk about this in five years, okay?

“Okay, but you were the one who said we'd talk about everything before we moved together. Everything out in the open, remember?

'I remember. I never wanted to get married, it's true. I never had that dream, and besides, you shouldn't marry someone you don't know...

- But why?

— I know the entire history of the Catholic Church since the Middle Ages, and also many other churches and religions over the years. Everything that was done in the name of faith, property taken, thousands of guillotine murders, hangings, people burned to death for not having the right to have their own beliefs, and this whole tradition of marriage carries a lot of weight with the history of female suffering. . Getting married in white was the symbol that a woman had to be pure to be handed over to her “buyer”, her “rapist”. The brides were 13, 14 years old, or even younger, of course they would be virgins...

...For at that time marriages were arranged by parents who gave their teenage daughters to the man who had the best dowry. And they were usually older men. And so was born the policy that women need older men to support them. And today, older men are still attracted to younger girls... Many women were raped on their wedding night. Anyone who has researched and read about history knows that we are now living in the best times of freedom, compared to ancient times.

“But these days people choose who they want to marry. It is a festive ceremony to symbolize the union between two people who love each other. Just that, for many... A party for friends. And you don't need to get married in church, there's always a forest, a beach, a monastery.

- Truth. But I'm just saying I never thought about it, that's all. I never had this need. And even today, many marriages still hold, or are based, on status and economy. Marriage is just marriage, a business! But, I confess that I liked the part about getting married in the forest... you know I'm a bit of a witch...

- Yes I know. It's the granddaughter of the witches they couldn't burn! - laughter.

"What about children?" I want to have five children. - He said laughing loudly when he saw her with wide eyes, looking catatonic...

“I can have as many kids as I want, or adopt, but right now the only baby I want bothering me in bed is you, Rich…

"But will you want to have a day?" I want to have five…” David said, whispering and smiling at the astonished expression he gave her as he repeated this. He was lying with his head on her shoulder, almost on her chest, her long hair covered his face... he was almost closing his eyes...

- I never thought about it. I never thought about having children. People should stop to romanticizing having children! Parents get exhausted and many couples even break up... we should only have children when we really were absolutely sure... It is a very big responsibility that we have to carry for the rest of our lives. Have you ever thought you were responsible for another human life? We humans can't even handle ourselves. We are confused, we change moods, we have fears, weaknesses, we face physical difficulties in this life, where a million things happen beyond our control... Being parents of a child... it's as if we had to be superhuman or extraterrestrial . We have to be psychologists, nannies, teachers, bank, tutor, etc. We have to be patient, sweet, at the same time be firm, decisive and strong to protect them. And there is no way to turn them off. The children... my God... just thinking about it makes me tired... They're a lot of work!- Nina spoke, slowly, almost falling asleep...

Suddenly Nina heard a soft, light blow. It was David snoring. He fell asleep and left her talking to herself. She laughed, closed her eyes, hugged him and slept too:

“Even for all the wealth of the Arab sheikhs…” she whispered with her eyes closed…

And so, always after hours and hours of conversation, they slept together for many, many nights of their lives...

The end.
