Dirty Romance

They had gotten home only to find Rosie panicking over nothing. 


"I'm fine, mom. Really we just went to pick flowers" Emily said showing Rosie the lilies she had picked. 


"Thanks, it's very pretty" Rosie said grabbing the lilies from Em. 


"Your name is Rosie so I expected your best flowers to be Rose" Em said as Rosie grabbed a vase. 


"My mom was the one who loved roses. She was so obsessed with them that she had to name me after them. My friends were the ones who decided to name me Rosie. They said Rose made me look soft and weak" 


"I don't see the difference but whatever floats their boat, I guess. Are you still in contact with your friends?" Em asked curiously making Rosie smile sadly. 


"No they were mauled by bears when they went hiking" 


"I'm so sorry. I didn't know..." Em apologized immediately. 


"It's okay. It's not your fault, it's the damn bears" Rosie said making Em smile sadly. 


Em nodded unsure before excusing herself to go to her room.
