Indeed, that's exactly what happened. With one final surge of energy, Ren unleashed a devastating spell that engulfed Aeolus in a blinding flash of light. 

"This can't be! I can't die!" Aeolus screamed in desperation as he felt himself being reduced to tiny fragments of cloud, stripped of his divine abilities.

And just like that, the God of Clouds was no more, dissolving into wisps of mist that quickly dispersed into the air.
