Rescue efforts

Alorna looked nervous and Officer Jack Gray could see her hands trembling as the gravity of the situation made Zeph's previous words to her feel as heavy as a ton of lead.

Be it by luck, chance, or divine will she was there in the skyhook operator's chair and not somewhere trapped in the ruined remains of the high-rise that her residence resided in. This gave her the opportunity to be the one who was doing the rescuing instead of praying that rescue would come in time.

"Zeph, what if I mess up?"

"Then we try again. I will be walking you through everything Alorna and I am not asking you to securely move an irreplaceable cargo, just a few heavy objects that are in the way of the firefighters and other rescue personnel on the ground."

"Most of what you will be doing is just lowering and raising the skyhook straight up and down when I give you the signal okay?"
