Chapter 7: Friendversary 2

Sticking out her tongue at Ann, Samantha admiringly look at Maya, expecting the answer to her question. "Well, what made I and Ann besties is first and foremost the fact that we have most things in common", Maya stopped and took a sip of her beer.

The day after the incident with Issy and her 'minions' as i and Ann call them...

"Ann....", Maya called out running to her with her bag on her back after spotting the back view of Ann. Looking back, Ann smiled and greeted, "Hello Maya, good morning".

"Morning to you too Ann, how are you doing?". "Great Maya, you?", Ann asked as they exchanged pleasantries. "Great too, by the way, what a big coincidence this is. Never expected to see you in the hall way", Maya said, walking into the classroom with Ann.

"Yes, me too", Ann said smiling. They girls walked into the classroom and took lessons. When the lunch bell rang they went o the cafeteria together. After getting their food they went to sit.

"Sitting here reminds me of yesterday...", Maya began. "Hmm", Ann nodded chewing her food. "So Maya, since you just moved to town, have you made any friends yet?".

"No, no friends yet", said Maya. "And why's that? or are you the introvert type?", Ann asked again, gulping down her drink.

"Not really, just that I noticed no one really wants to make friends with me because I'm not from the same 'caliber' or 'status' as they call it", Maya said with a sad face.

"Don't be sad Maya... I'm here for you. I will be your new friend from now on", Ann placed an assuring hand on Maya's hand and smiled, showing all her teeth.

Maya nodded, saying, "thanks Ann...", "You're welcome, so how have you been coping since you don't have friends?, I mean since you moved in", Ann asked, finishing the last portion of her meal.

"Been trying my best Ann, all I do is read all day and stay in doors or go out with my parents at times", Maya shrugged as they walked out of the cafeteria.

"Maya, i need to use the rest room, you can go on so I'll meet you in class", Ann said.

"Okay, see you in class", Maya replied. Walking alone on the stairs down to the classroom, she heard a voice behind her, "And who do we have here girls..." Issy said blocking Maya's way.

"It's our little classmate who just moved in to town", one of Isabella's minion Mandy said and they all laughed sarcastically. "Hi Issy, nice to see you", Maya said, smiling nervously.

Pushing her head, Isabella laughed and said, "where is your superhero now Maya, you dirty little pig.

One thing I'm sure of is the fact that; my chauffeur makes more money than your father's stupid company", Isabella said, looking down at Maya disgustingly. Saying that, her two minions, Mandy and Valerie laughed putting their little hands on their noses.

"C'mon girls, let's drag her and make her regret her choice of school", Isabella said. "Yes girls, ewws like her are going to rotten the school", saying this word, Valerie pushed Maya to the ground and they started dragging her by her hair.

Crying and hurting from the pain on her scalp, Maya pleased to be left alone. Meanwhile, Ann who took another route to class got into the class and didn't see Maya on her seat.

"Where could she be...?", Ann thought. "Let me go check the playground", Ann said to herself again.

Walking on the hallway almost before the stairs, she could hear Isabella and her friends laughing and saying sarcastically, "who's gonna save you now girlie?, are you gonna call your dada or mama?", hahahaha... the roar of laughter were what Ann heard next.

Scoffing, Ann thought; " I wonder who those bullies are bullying now". Turning back, the pushing, shaking, pinching and dragging of hair made Maya cry out again, " I'm so sorry please, stop hurting me".

Hearing that, Ann immediately turned back and ran to the direction of where the sobbing and pleading where coming from. She wanted to confirm if the voice she heard where truly Maya's.

On getting there, what she saw horrified her. With fire literally on her head, smoke coming out of her eyes and nose flaring, she looked like an angry bull about to fight.

Ann saw Maya all red with tears stained all over her pretty face and red little markings which indicates the bullies pinches on her cheeks.

"Isabella...!!!", Ann scream. Shocked to their bones by the scream, the girls stopped what they were doing to Maya. " It's none of your business Ann, stay out our business", Isabella said with hand akimbo.

"And who says its none of my business?", Ann asked with an intimidating look, obviously upset. "Says us Ann, now run off and stay out of this", Valerie said and Mandy made the 'shoo' signal with her left hand.

Still with an intimidating look, Ann said, "Maya is my friend and I can't let you bully her...", with her right eyes brow raised, she asked; "and what if I don't run off?".

Coming close her, Isabella said; " then you'll have to share from your friend's pain Ann but I wouldn't want that so shoo...". Maya was surprised but still terrified, she couldn't believe Ann would stand up for her.

"She's definitely not like the rest", Maya thought, smiling unknowingly.

"C,mon Issy, face the reality, you're just jealous cause Maya is more beautiful than you and also because our class boys admire and have a crush on her", Ann said moving close to Isabel.

Stepping back, Isabella yelled, "that's not true. I'm not jealous of this lousy girl so beat it". Laughing, Ann moved closer to her again with an intimidating aura.

"You wouldn't want your precious father get angry at you would you?", Ann asked. Scoffing she said again, " you always want all the attention when you don't worth it...".

Getting angry and scared to face her father's judgment, Isabella said to her minions; "let's leave this losers girls, they aren't worth our time". Saying that, the three girls cat walked away like nothing happened.

Ann raised her hands towards Maya who was still on the floor. " Come Maya, let me help you up so we can clean up in the restroom or we'll be late for class", taking Ann's hands Maya got up and they both went to the restroom.

On the way to the restroom Maya began, " thanks for standing up for me Ann, you're a very good person and friend. "You're welcome Maya but no need to thank me. That's why we're friends or aren't we?. What are friends for if they can't defend and correct each other ?"

Suddenly hugging Ann, Maya sobbed saying, "thank you Ann, you're the best", patting Maya's back like she was petting a baby, Ann replied; "you're welcome Maya, you're also the best".

The girls finished from the restroom and went back to the classroom to receive lessons.

When school was over, the girls walked slowly together towards the school exit, enjoying each other's company. "Maya...", Ann began. "... due to what happened at the hallway today, you need to know how to defend yourself when such happens".

Ann said, clasping Maya's hands into hers as they swing their clasped hands.

"....hmm, I tried doing that but still, they didn't leave me alone", Maya said, in respect to Ann's comment. "You didn't do it well then, probably you're let them sense your weakness. You see, Isabella loves to be right all the time, she loves getting the attention and loves been called the prettiest..."

Cutting Ann's word Maya said; "sorry to cut you Ann but within the little time I've known her, I can really testify to that. It's obvious she proud and arrogant and I don't like such people", Maya said with an irritated face.

"You can say that again Maya, but in order to defeat Issy whenever she and her minions bully you, you need to look her straight in the eye. You must make sure you look intimidated her to the point of peeing in her pants, make sure it sends chills down her body and threatening her a bit.

That way, she womt bully you again but I know her very well, that still doesn't stop the fact that Isabella will stop looking down on you so you have to get used to that", Ann advised.

"Thanks Ann, you're the best...", Maya said. They both hug each other and bid their goodbyes going to their respective escorts.

Two days later, Isabella and her friends Mandy and Valerie monitored Ann and Maya's routine so they could lay an ambush of bully for Maya.

Unknowing of what lies ahead of her, Maya who was really pressed went into the restroom to answer the call of nature.

Sighting Maya, Isabella abs her minions sneaked into the bathroom. Maya finished and putted on her undies. Finishing up, she opened the bathroom door with the thought of going to the wash hand zinc to wash her hands but what she saw was unexpected.

Seeing Issy and her minions in the bathroom was unexpected for me. At that moment I remembered all Ann said two days ago and I couldn't help but praise her intelligence.

To me, I thought Isabella had learned her lesson from Ann and won't ever bully me again but due to the turn out of things now, I can sadly say I was wrong.

"You can go into the bathroom once you're ready...", I said walking pass them, fidgeting a little.

Laughing, Issy said, "it seems our little rat is scared.... tell me who's gonna save you now"; and at that moment, I remembered what Ann said the other day about confidence and intimidation.

"And who said I was scared of you?", I began, adding a little more flame and intimidation to aura. ".... why can't you admit the fact that I'm more beautiful than you Issy. You claim you have lots of money but that money still doesn't add to your beauty not to talk of it cleaning your nasty attitude".

I was shocked at my own words but not as shocked as Isabella because the shock was clearly obvious on her face.

Mandy and Valerie's faces were not left out of the shock because their mouths were open wide like one loosing air. Not wanting to loose the fight easily Issy said; "and what value does your filthy poverty adds to you?".

I laughed out loud and moved closer to them, scaring the sh*t out of them. "Well...", I began, twisting the tail of my ponytail hair and moving closer to them.

"Since you asked girls, I'm happy to tell you that that filthy poverty value you asked has first of all, gifted me with beauty and brains, landed me in the same school as you and the same will also make me sue your parents each and collect millions of dollars from them and I know you wouldn't want to taste the filth just like me when I squeeze you dry", I said, grinning and loving the reactions on their faces.

Seeing Isabella gulp, I said again; " all your threats have been recorded on my phone before I started speaking so if you know what's good for you and you want to continue enjoying your life of wealth with mashed potatoes brains and frog faces, my best advice is to 'RUN OFF AND NEVER BULLY ME AGAIN'..." I said, stressing and yelling my last sentences out loud.

Scaring them that way, I saw them scampered away before a tinkle of an eye. "Woww.... wooohhh", i screamed in the restroom, feeling relieved. "That was easy", I said to myself, washing my hands.

Getting into the classroom, I could see their eyes red and swollen like they've cried them out but that still didn't stop me from looking at them intently to instill fear in their rotten hearts.

Ann kept on asking me what kept me for so long but I couldn't say anything since lunch hours were over and our next lesson was about to begin.

Walking together towards the school exit again after school hours, we clasped our hands together and swinged it. This simple act has become a daily routine and I loved it.

"So what really happened Maya, you're yet to tell me", Ann asked curiously. "You'd do really great as a seer Ann, could you believe what you said two days ago about Issy came to pass?....", I began and told her everything about my ordeal in the restroom.

Ann laughed to her hearts content with little tears coming out from the side of her eyes.

"You're so funny Maya", Ann said. "Another reason Isabella is acting like that is because she's jealous. Jealous of the fact that I choose you over her".

"Oh... really?", I said, surprised. "Yes, Isabella has always wanted to be friends with me but due to her nasty attitude and constant bully, I ignored her and she got angry".

"Wow, what a funny person she is", I said, laughing. "Yeah, you can say that again", Ann said. Maya and Ann both talked about various things. Maya felt very comfortable around Ann for reasons she couldn't pin point. Ann invited Maya over to her house and Maya did the same.

"So that was how we became best friends", Maya said and drank the remaining beer in her can. "Hmm, that nice", Samantha said stuttering, obviously tipsy.

"You're the best Ann... I love you Sis", Maya said and hugged Ann. "Can't do with you Sis, you're the best", Ann also said, hugging Maya tightly.

Samantha who was drunk got emotional and started sobbing for no reason. Ann and Maya both looked at her and laughed.

"Sammie can't go anywhere in this state. We need to lodge so she can get over her hangover and be on her way tomorrow", Maya suggested and Ann agreed.
