Fooling around

"You took the picture on that story, didn't you?" Lily asked with a cold, stern look.

Alice was startled, then realised that although Lily was now using a question, I was afraid she had already been sure.

There was a photograph on the report showing the scene in the office between the Mayor and the Sub-Minister, and Lily had seen her again that night on the eleventh floor and could instantly make the connection.

"Yes." Various thoughts raced through Alice's mind and she simply admitted it. From the way Lily had asked, Alice guessed that she had only thought she had taken the photo, but didn't know that the story had come from her as well.

"Who do you work for?" Lily pressed.

Alice was about to say that she was a non-partisan when she saw that Lily looked a little nervous.
