Meeting Lily again

Alice didn't want to speculate or doubt Lestat, but he was a vampire after all, and if this was about vampires, wouldn't he be on their side and not care about Cynthia's death?

She wanted to believe Lestat, but his words were so incoherent that she lacked the motivation to believe them.

She, as a werewolf, would do her best to help Cynthia, a human, because they were friends, because Cynthia was the girl Valen liked.

But what reason would a vampire like Lestat, who had always been above the rest, have to help Cynthia?

Alice liked Lestat, but not enough to lose her mind.

Alice thought about it for a while, but could not be reassured. She knew that even if she went in there, the odds were that she wouldn't be of much help, but she couldn't sit outside and wait for what was probably the worst possible outcome.
