Hero School

"Ultimate Hero High school.... What could go wrong?" Nathan said walking in. He had no idea how much he would regret those words later. He started walking to the front office and then opened the door to see the principle. "Hello-". He stopped talking immediately and squealed with excitement. "I see you've finally arrived, I've been waiting to personally escort you towards orientation!".

"That deep voice, the cool demeanor- You're former hero Solar!!!!!!!!!!" He said excited. Solar stood up and ran his hand through his now old and grey hair. "I may be old but I can still teach! Former pro Solar, at your servi- *CRACK". He buckled over and put his hand on his back. Nathan rushed over and said "Are you okay?!". He smiled and put his thumb up saying "Sorry, forgot I'm not as young as I used to be!".

The two started walking down the hall and Nathan said "I didn't know you were the principle! How did you even get the position?". Solar smiled and said "As weird as it might sound, it was one of my students who recommended it. And I mean back when I first retired.... Sin. She always had that spark of a true hero and that strong determination. And teachings always been my strong suit.".

They enter a large room crowded with students, and Nathan sits down as Solar walks onto a stage. He grabs a microphone and says "Attention students! It's my pleasure to welcome you all to my school! As you may know, I am Solar, and your new principle. There will be multiple courses here, and the main one is the hero course. Of course, not everyone will make it in, which is why there will be a trial for the right of it.".

He increases the heat in his hand and lunches a fire burst into the wall behind him, revealing a huge area that looked like a city. "All those who wish to enter the hero course, get to the starting line!" Solar said with flames coming from his hands. Multiple students got to the starting line along with Nathan and they all got ready to rush through. A bang was heard and the students started running through.

On some speakers Solar said "Your way of qualifying will be shown through your abilities. Around the area are test dummies that will represent people in danger, and it's your job to save them. Each one you save will represent a point and will add to your total score, however you'll have 25 minutes, and as a bonus,". A loud boom was heard and they looked to see someone in front of them say "Pitch, be careful as to not hurt them too bad, you as well Daycloak.".

"N-no way!" One of the students said. Fear filled the room as Solar said "Pitch Black, former villain Daycloak, and Heart String are going to attack and capture you until there are only 30 of you left! Good Luck!". Nathan immediately ran away from there and started gathering dummies. After he had collected about 20, and there were 10 minutes left he stopped for a second to catch his breath.

He looked around and said "It looks like they've stopped targeting students, now I just need to focus and-" "Hello kiddo~". He looked up fearfully and saw Pitch Black using two wings to fly above him. "D-dad!" He said getting ready to run. He started sprinting and Pitch said "I've been trusted to find 1 more student to capture! Unfortunately I don't play favorites!".

While he was running, Pitch swooped down and picked up Nathan by his rabbit ears. Nathan struggled as his father said "Sorry little bunny, but you won't be fast enough to avoid me-". A bunch of turquoise electricity ran threw him and Pitch let him go, allowing Nathan to escape. Once he stopped pulsing with electricity, he looked around and sighed saying "So close yet so far.".

A bell rung and Nathan smiled with joy at having survived his first run in with a pro villain. "Of course it had to be him...." He said seeing his father land in front of solar. He retracted the wings and said "This batch of heroes will be interesting to deal with. You have me excited! Good luck, you'll need it if these kids are as stubborn as we were back in the day!".

A week later Nathan got a letter from someone. "Oh! Uncle Static, sent me something?" He said pulling out a disc. He put it in a computer and it started playing. Static came on and said "Hello? Hi! If you're watching this, then be proud! You made it into the hero course kiddo! I've been assigned to make these videos for all the students so before I go, you should know something.".

He smiled big and said "The world we live in is still changing, and as more villains rise up, more heroes are also needed! YOU will be the next big hero that this world needs, and I believe in you fully! I can't wait to meet you all on the field some day, so be sure to train hard and study hard, okay?". The video then cut off and Nathan breathed out. He'd done it, and was on his was to becoming a hero.

However, little did he know, the path ahead would lead to so much more.
