Hero Internship

*At a hero meeting*

"Can I ask.... What the living hell is Pitch Black doing here?!" Sin said watching him drink a coffee. "It's just god playing the sims at this point, and all his actions lead me here." He said with a smirk. "At this point it's just spite-" "Only to those who dislike me, but you fucked this, so you can't complain!". Backstab walked in and said "That's enough children, back to the meeting or else both of you sleep on the couch.". The two both shut up and Backstab said "Good. Now then, the reason I called this meeting as the neutral between hero and villains, is to bring back the hero internship program.".

The heroes in the room all muttered until Static said "Sis, I love you, but this is a bit.... Insane. I mean, the whole reason we stopped it was because of the too high risk!". Glass Weaver looked at her and said "Static's right, and you know I hate saying that! And also, why bring this up now?". Backstab looked at them and said "Because, Pitch's father is still out of custody, and now we're also raising the next generation of villains!".

Pitch stood up and said "Speaking of which, how is my old man still kicking?! I thought we killed him!". Much to everyone's surprise, Solar walked. "Pitch, it's good to see you! And Sin my darling, I can see you're better than I was!". Sin looked at him and said "Take it easy old man, what are you even doing here?". He sat down in a chair and touched a projector. "Static, cut the lights!".

He turned on the projector and showed a few clips. "Pitch, to answer your question, yes. In fact, as I'm sure you can recall, they both were.". Sin and Backstab both whipped around to Pitch and he looked away. "However, a few days after your father was sighted, we went to their burial sight, and found this.". He pushed a button and showed two graves that had been dug up.

"It appears that they had both risen from the grave.... And as for who this was....". He turned off the projector and said "The rogue villain known as Necrodrift.". Sin, Backstab, and Pitch Black, all went pale at that name. "OH HELL NO!" Pitch said. "That brute hasn't been seen since I became the number 1, and you're telling me he's still active?!" Sin yelled. Solar nodded and said "With that, I agree with Backstab.".

Solar looked at all the heroes and said "Be it hero or villain, nobody is safe from him. It's important that these young individuals gain on the field experience!".

"Alright class!" Ms. Rein said. "Today, we will be working on something far more important than normal work! The hero Internship program has begun reconstruction!". None of the students said anything and the classroom was silent. ".... Right, I should explain. Back before all you teenagers were born, students used to be allowed to go with heroes to work under them!".

Suddenly the class became more interested. "You have the rest of the week in order to find a hero to work under!". Team POINT got together, and Nathan said "Okay, so this is one of those things we can't decide randomly on. We also might not work together on it.". Kate then looked at him and said "Why don't you just work under your mother?". He sighed and said "She considers that 'cheating', and she'll take anyone else except me!".

James thought for a second and then said "Why don't you work underneath the number 2? Static could help you with your lightning abilities, or maybe you could work with Glass Weaver!". Nathan just stared at him and said "Glass Weaver hates my father, and my mom would kill my uncle if she found out.". Ms. Rein walked over to them and said "Actually Nathan, you got a personal request from a hero!".

They all looked puzzled until he saw the image, leaving him even more interested. It was an envelope, and on the front of it was an image of a hero. It was a hero who was only 23, light blonde hair cut short, perfect strong features, and he was wearing black shades, with a black coat with white fur on the inside, wearing blue jeans that had a red 'X' on each knee. "Is that-" Kate said before being cut off.

"The number 4 hero Hyper Speed!!!! The hero who's number 1 for popularity and dashing good looks! He's the second youngest person to become a pro hero, achieving number 10 on the board when he was only 18!" Nathan said being a fanboy. "And we've lost him. How long until he snaps out of it?" James asks as Z walks over. She slaps him in the back of the head saying "Snap out of it bunny boy!".

He snaps back and looks at them. "Sorry.... It's just- why would a pro hero personally request to be my mentor, and it's only for a few weeks....". Z grabs him by the collar and says "Listen here you turquoise wannabe rabbit! If he chose you to be a hero and his temporary apprentice, then he's seeing something in you! And if you pass this opportunity just because you're worried about failure, I kill you and boil your guts, you hear me rabbit?!?!?!?!?!".

She lets him go and walks away. Nathan processes and says "That's gotta be the most intimidating and nicest thing she's said to me.... Yet she still has a temper.".

"Hey 'boss', I'm back with my patrol report!" A young male voice says. Sin turns around to see the Speed hero, Hyper Speed. "Hyper, nice to see you, can I ask a question?". He nodded and she said "Why am I just now hearing about how you've offered to teach my son? Nothing with you is ever that simple. And also, you're more cheery than usual, and you filed everything in your report.... What're you up to?".

He smiles and says "Tamara, we've been friends ever since I first got in the ranking. Do you really think I'd do anything to hurt that kid? Nah, but I will teach him something.... As a hero, not everything goes according to plan. The top three heroes won't teach the kid, so I will!". Hyper Speed has always been like this, very easy going and kind. One of the many reasons he has the highest popularity rating.

"Fine. Just don't be too hard on him, the kid hates failure.". He opens a window and gets ready to jump out and saying "Without failure, how will we grow into something new?".
