Chapter 7 Something is off.

Kalaron rushed through the staircase to the entrance of the ballroom and found a group of princesses and princes looking into the woods with horror. Snarls and growls could be heard coming from there.

"What's going on?" he asked his subordinate who was behind him to report his findings.

"Your Highness....I really don't know what's wrong but I believe something is off with the seven Alpha brothers. They suddenly went on a rampage, they are tearing at each other in an intense fight. The leaders have gone to try to salvage the situation but it doesn't seem good." The Elf reported.

The loud howls and snarls erupted out in the night and it was possible to believe a battle was taking place. Even the humans could feel the intensity and drop in temperature in the area

"What do you think is the problem?" A princess who was hugging herself to keep the chills out asked her friend.

"Could it be the full moon?" Another asked with worry etched on her face.

The seven brothers were surely a sensation and many of the ladies looked up to them for future spouses though didn't have their hopes high since they had destined mates. The fact that they were fighting eachother tore at their hearts.

The males however were really excited about the fight while some were sneering. 'Better they fight and kill each other!' They thought

"That's super scary!!" Another princess shuddered just at the thought

"I don't want to get entangled with the wolves. What if he gets angry and kills you under the influence of the full moon." Another said to which the human princesses nodded in agreement.

"Yeah! That's super scary!"

Murmures went around among the terrified human princesses.

In a distance, a group of people came back carrying an injured person. The vampires left the scene since the smell of blood was getting on their nerves.

At the battle scene.

Midnight black wolves were clawing at eachother mercilessly. The blood on the ground indicated that the beasts were on a to do or die mission as they didn't hold back their attacks. They bit at each others limbs, tackled eachother to the ground and all. It was a fight for dominance as each one of them tried to dominate the other but none was conceding. The council was watching from outside the barrier that had been erected to keep the beasts inside. From here, one could see how intense the battle was.

The wolves kept banging at the sheild constantly and the watchers did their best to keep it in one piece as they couldn't think of the disaster that would break if the beasts managed to break free.

A group of cloaked women and men stood in. circular encirclement chanting spells. There were fairies who were also sprinkling beast taming dust on them from above but the dust seemed to be having different effects as the beasts got more ferocious.

"What's going on?" Another man in a royal gold robe came over in hurried steps. He was just returning from the humans territory.

"Isn't it clear to you! They are fighting to show dominance but none is backing off."The one that had been in the scen for a while replied bored.

"Because they are all of the Alpha blood?" Another asked and his colleagues rolled their eyes at him.

Who didn't know how Alpha born males always wanted to dominate others, things had to be going according to their rules or that would pose as a challenge aganist them which they never took seating!

"I knew this was going to happen sooner or later!" Another complained with a frown. "Though it happened sooner than I expected."

"That's why I had told you not to let them come here! You never know when they'd loose it and it's putting all the others present in danger. This could possibly spark war among the different kinds.

"I think our worry should be more on the humans. They are the fragile ones, especially the female humans."

"How long is this going to take?"

"Untill they drop exhausted."

"Won't they kill themselves? "

"If it's not for mating, they won't. Afterall, they are brothers no matter what!"

The man sighed and stood there as he watched the watchers ensuring that the barrier didn't break. It was going to be a long night!!

....

"Alpha!! Alpha!!!!!" A flushed voice rang out in the Alpha's mind making him cringe.

He grumbled as he rose from sleep. It was late at night and since it had been a full moon, they had indulged themselves and were really tired. 'What? You better have a reason for waking me up!' he replied to his beta as he looked to his side where his mate lay.

"The Princes! It has started!" The Beta was in shock when the message reached him, he had been persistent not to let the boys go but again he knew they needed this.

"Details!" The Alpha rose from his bed with a jolt, sleep off his eyes and mind running in circles. His unstable emotional state woke up the Luna who looked at him confused.

"Honey! what's the matter? Why are you unstable?"

He snapped to where she was watching him with her sleepy eyes. He walked over and engulfed her in a hug. "It's started!" was all he said and burried his face in her neck where his mark is to calm down his wolf. It was clawing to break free and go look out for his pups.

...

Redpearl stood from her bedroom window ignoring the chilling morning winds that blew in and watched as seven huge wolves were being wheeled on carts to the males wing.

She couldn't help the chill that ran through her as she watched their enormous size, looking as huge as horses. The beasts were not asleep or unconscious but rather too tired to even move. They had been in a fight through out the whole night only to relent when the sun chose to rise

It was day break and most of the princesses had been asleep except her, even her maids were snoring the morning away.

She continued to watch as the beasts were taken away but was horrored when the beasts seemed to be looking to where she stood. All of them! Though weak, they tried to get off the carts but couldn't and that's when Redpearl noticed the chains that were used to tie the beasts down.

She looked and noticed that some people from the council also seemed to be looking her way which made her duck down immediately and hide from them. She didn't want to get involved in any drama in this place.

The beasts on the other hand were communicating through their mindlink.

"Bro, I'm really sorry! I don't know what happened back there."Brandon apologised.

"You don't have to be. We all got a chance at eachother." Jack replied with a small laugh.

"Is this going to keep happening every full moon?" Collins asked with a yawn. He was so exhausted.

"I believe so. Damn! I'm so exhausted." Morrison grumbled as he cussed.

"What got your wolf balls in a twist back there? Why did you attack my brother?" Caleb was in a fight with his wolf.

"What! He was planning on attacking me first. That was self defence." The big bad wolf defended himself.

"Let's be serious here all of you! Do you know we could have killed ourselves?" Collins asked with a stern look on his face. More he didn't know where his glasses had dropped off to.

"Well, it's survival for the fittest." Jack joked with earned him ice glares.

"Will you really go to such lengths?" Kevin who had bee quiet all this time asked disbelieving. "Guys.....can't you see this madness? It's one throne and we are seven...."

"Oh! Shut up!! My mood is already bitter and you are speaking of things that will agitate me more! Do you want us to fight?" Morrison blew his fuse.

"Ah! No, I'll pass." Jack backed off. That was enough beating up for a while. "My handsome body is all bruised!" he whined.

"Shut up! You'll heal and the scars will be gone in no time." Collin said.

"I hope my mate doesn't show up now! I won't bare for her to see me this badly beaten. It'll be really bad for my image." Ian thought dreamily.

"If mine shows up now, I'll let her rub my wounds and look after me and spoil me." Jack jested.

The seven brothers burst out laughing in their wolf form. This had the council members who were wheeling them over to their chambers look at the gwaffing wolves that shook as they made sounds that were close to laughing.

"See! I told you! They'll be ok. "The man said to which the council members shook their heads in resignation. They had sleep to catch on.

Reason? Nights in the magical world were very long yet the days were really short.

Least known to the commoners, nature was falling out of balance.
