Going Out with a Man

The summer night sky continued to be lackluster as the stars felt further away from the people who wanted to spot them in the blanket of black. June stopped looking up minutes ago, so when they reached the spot where Mandy waited for them, he didn't get annoyed by that dim lamp that obscured the sky from where he stood. He just looked down at the things on the ground.

He was not supposed to show fear toward the grand demons under him, but he couldn't help but swallow a lump forming in his throat when he saw the place. There was no blood to be cleaned from the streets, but there were five men on the ground. Their severed heads were sitting inches from their bodies, but the place continued to be clean.

June stared at the closed eyes before looking up at Mandy, who stood around with a placid smile on her beautiful face. He didn't miss out on how she was in a pink dress that screamed casual elegance as if she just got off from fine dining. "Where's Mr. Harlow?"
