Sebastian
Spending the night at Malco's place wasn't that bad and he actually stayed alone, but his family didn't live too far from him. He had a guest room that he used for his younger brother that he let me stay in for the night. He also gave me some clothes to sleep in and some to change into for the morning. He was beyond welcoming and I was beginning to realize that that was just his personality.
I woke up at exactly sunrise, which was normal for werewolves. If the sun was up then so were we, no matter how late we went to bed. I stared up at the ceiling as I let memories flash in my mind as I felt my heart clench. I rolled over to my side and let the tears roll down my face and onto the pillow. I would do anything to change the way things were now but I knew there was no going back.
Get it together, I told myself as I used my hands to wipe the tears away before sitting up in bed. I let out a sigh and let my foot touch the cold wooden floor, sending a shiver through my body but not cold enough to cause goosebumps. As I said before werewolves ran warm and that was good because Malco seemed to keep his house pretty chilled.
Instead of getting dressed right away, I started stretching out my body before doing some exercises. I did two-hundred jumping jacks, fifty burpees, a hundred push-ups, eighty lunges, eighty squats, a hundred crunches, and an eight-minute plank. By the time I was done I was breathing a bit heavy and sweaty. Although I now felt awake and a lot better after going down memory lane.
I grabbed the clothes Malco left out for me and took them into the bathroom across the hall. He had already left out a towel for me when I was working out; I heard him moving about. I closed the door and let the shower heat up before standing under the hot water. I didn't linger in the shower and instead quickly washed up before getting out.
I dried off and got dressed before grabbing the disposable toothbrush and unwrapping it. I tossed the wrapper in the trash and brushed my teeth before leaving it in the holder for tomorrow morning. After tomorrow morning I would hopefully be working for the Adelmund family and working with them came with pay and board.
Malco had informed me last night that they only did interviews once a week and that I had come just at the right time because they would be hosting them on Wednesday, tomorrow. If I was picked I would be receiving nice pay and a nice play to stay. I could go about not having to really worry about anything from the past coming after me. It was the perfect place to hide and live and I had experience with vampires. I was perfect to have a job serving them.
I looked in the mirror to check my hair and my eyes flashed a bright green before settling back to their regular green. I could feel my wolf getting a bit restless and watching me to shift but I couldn't risk it. I wasn't even sure how Malco would feel about werewolves but he was half vampire and I was sure he wouldn't be as welcoming.
I dropped my towel and clothes off in the room before heading towards where I heard Malco. I found him in the kitchen plating up food for us to eat. Since he was half-human he could eat human food without problems but he still had to occasionally drink blood or even he would grow ill and might die.
"Eggs, bacon, and bagels with cream cheese," I smiled as I sat down at the Island top.
"I ran out of hotcakes when my brother came last time and hadn't bought any more," He laughed as he pushed a plate to me.
I shrugged, "That's fine. I was never a fan of hotcakes."
That was a lie to some extent because I did like hotcakes, just not the ones anyone could make. Every time I ate ones others made or a dinner made it never tasted the same or like I wanted. It only filled me with sadness that I would never be able to eat his homemade hotcakes and didn't leave behind any recipes. He always believed in remembering everything so that no one could steal the information from you.
The necklace around my neck felt heavy.
"Well, that's the first time I've heard that one!" Malco laughed as he shoveled food into his mouth.
We carried on talking about little things and I asked Malco many questions about himself. It would lessen the chance of him asking questions about me that I wasn't ready to share, and I don't think I would ever be ready to share. I did enjoy hearing him talk about his family and learned he not only had a brother but also a little sister too. She was only six years old but apparently was a handful and Malco promised to introduce us sometime.
When we finished eating Malco suggested showing me around the entire town. He mentioned he would show me the whole island if he could put some parts were only for full-blooded vampires and some parts only for high-class vampires so they were off-limits to us. This not including being allowed to go to interviews for jobs in those areas during the days they held them.
"Ooo! We should get you a bag. That way if you get hired you can put the close I gave you and you're close in there. We should also grab you a permanent toothbrush and somebody odor sticks," Malco went on in excitement as he dragged me out of his house and towards town.
"Malco you don't have to do that. Plus I can't pay you back," I took up walking beside him instead of being dragged.
Malco shrugged, "You don't need to pay me back but if you insist you can just pay me back after your first pay."
I laughed and shook my head as we entered the town to be greeted with tons of people out and about. It was clear that a lot more humans came out during the day than what I saw at night. I even spotted more half breeds than last night and they all seemed to be walking about just fine. It was also clear to see by the scars, tattoos, or the way a person held themself that they were either here just to live or to get away from something, even if they seemed relaxed.
There was always an air about someone needing to escape their past and if you were running you could tell when others were too. I was just glad that the unspoken rule that seemed to float around was to not ask and so we were all treated normally.
"There!" Malco snatched my arm and yanked me towards a shop, pushing the swinging doors open.
Inside were multiple leather goods from bags to furniture. It was clear to see that this was a leather shop and it didn't seem to be too high priced as we looked around. Malco would hold bags up for me to see and once he realized I said yes to everything he got upset with me.
"Sebastian! You need to pick one you actually like!"
I sighed and pointed to one, "That one then."
"Great! It's the perfect side and dark brown should suit you well," Malco said as he grabbed the bag and we made our way up front to pay.
"Now onto other things," Malco grinned as he gave me the bag.
I groaned.

I was completely and utterly drained as I sat down on a bench, waiting for Malco as I took note of the darkening sky. I was also beyond hungry as shopping around had used all the energy I had and Malco refused to stop for brunch. I guess he forgot that I wasn't half-vampire and needed to eat more frequently. It also didn't help that werewolves were naturally more hungry than anyone else, even omegas ate a lot.
The bench I sat on was one of the many placed all over the town and I understood why they needed them. I mean besides the bag, toothbrush, and body odor sticks that I had placed inside the bag I hadn't gotten anything else but Malco did. He not only got somethings but I realized he liked to walk around and look into shops too without getting anything.
I just wanted to eat and lay down after all this.
"Okay! I'm back!" Malco appeared in front of me with a small bag and a smile on his face.
"Can we please get some food?" I asked as I picked up my bag and looked at him.
He frowned, "I forgot about that, sorry."
I laughed and shook my head, "I figured as much. Should we eat out or are we gonna eat back at your place?"
Malco thought about it as he rocked from side to side, "How about my place. Then we would put our stuff down and not worry about it as we eat."
I nodded, "Sounds perfect."
We began walking back in the direction of his neighborhood but stopped before we got out of town. I followed Malco's eyes to a little candy shop that was open and knew that he was dying to go inside. I was also a little curious because I hadn't ever seen a candy shop that was dedicated to humans and vampires. In fact, I hadn't seen any food shops for vampires where I came from and he always ate in with me.
"Wanna go in?" I offered.
"Yes!"
We headed towards the shop as I rolled my neck to get a cramp out. I ended up running into someone and stumbling back but Malco caught my elbow to steady me from falling.
"I'm sorry," The person apologized, even though it was my fault.
I looked up, "It's fine, no damage done."
I found myself stuck on his looks as I realized that he was a vampire and a full one. He was beyond attractive and his voice was deep enough to catch you off guard. He was also taller and bigger than me in general and I couldn't help checking him out. It was like something didn't want me to take my eyes off him.
"Farewell," He said, snapping my attention back, as I watched him walk away from us.
"Sebastion, come on! I want candy! You can stare after hot guys later!" Malco whined as he drew my attention back to him and our journey into the shop.
I rolled my eyes, "Shut up."
We entered the shop and it was like Malco turned into a little kid as he looked around and I shook my head, regretting having the urge to come inside because I knew he was gonna spread a few minutes if not an hour or two in here looking and deciding what to buy, meaning that dinner was gonna be put off for a bit longer.
