There is a small village near the forest that lives peacefully. Although the villagers lived in poverty they were able to live a peaceful sociality life. On one side of the village stood a small hut made of straw, when the rain came crashing, all the contents of the hut would be drenched. When the night came a piercing cold came in and accompanied the owner of the house. The house appears isolated and away from the other buildings around it. Inside the small hut lived an orphaned boy who lived alone, without his parents.
His parents had died since he was very young. The boy had a pale white face that always seemed dull due to the dust and dirt that faithfully stuck on to his skin. He has both sharp round eyes. None of the villagers knew his name and not a few of them did not notice his existence. The boy lived a lonely years without a social life by his side.
The little Gwi was observing the boys of his age playing together in the nearby market. They were playing football using dry straw that was tied to become a round shape. They seem happy and enjoy their childhood. Unlike Gwi, the boy stood by the side of the road and crouched down alone. His stomach had just made a sound because he was starving. He couldn't remember when the boy last enjoyed a warm, satiating meal.
"dug!" suddenly the straw ball the boys were playing in the market soared and landed hitting the head of Gwi who was observing the ground under his feet. Reflexively the boy raised his head and looked towards the boys whose walking towards him about to take their ball back. Little Gwi looked at them flatly but the look in eyes always seem sharp made the little boys run away for being scared of him. There was only one brave Boy who is still standing tall before Gwi.
"Can you throw the ball to me?" the boy asked Gwi.
Gwi looked at him then looked towards the ball rolling not far from him. He picked up the ball and threw it towards the boy in front of him. The boy smiled happily at him.
"Thank you!" he said as he leaves Gwi and Eun toward his friends.
The next day, they returned to play ball on the edge of the market and Gwi was back and stay at his favorite place. Gwi watched them again carefully. Then one of them walked up to Gwi with a flat face, he was the by whose took the ball from Gwi. Gwi and the boy looked at each other expressionlessly.
"This is for you," the boy pulled out a wrapped leaf from his shirt pocket.
Gwi seemed reluctant to take it, the boy approached Gwi and stood right in front of him. He opened the package he was carrying and showed a rolled warm rice in it. He wanted to share the food with Gwi. Although Gwi initially hesitated to take it, but because the boy insisted on giving it, he finally took the rice from the wrapper.
It had been a long time since the last time the little Gwi tasted such a delicious warm meal like that. All of this time he would only go into the forest and hunt a prey in the form of his wolf. He remembered how his father and mother taught the boy to hunt. The warm rice that entered his mouth reminded Gwi of his parents. In the past his mother also often made a rolled rice for Gwi as his favorite food. There was a smile rolled up on the boy's lips when he felt the delight of the warm rice.
"Thank you," Gwi said to the unnamed boy.
Since then the boy often came and brought a food for Gwi. The two of them began to enjoy spending their time together and play. One day the boy invites Gwi to come to the valley and look for a rare flower plant that he wants to give to his mother. They both walked down a rocky hill then down the valley on the border of the village. They continued walking around looking for the plant the boy wanted. Gwi didn't talk much and just followed the boy wherever he invited him to go. It was the first time he had a friend.
Suddenly the ground around the valley shook violently. Gwi immediately turned his head up at the valley and saw some large rocks had fallen towards them. The boy of Gwi's friend immediately screamed hysterically, it was impossible for the two of them to escape from this place. Gwi is in a dilemma, between saving his only friend or obeying the words of his parents.
"Never let human witnessing your true strength and form. They will harm you" the last message of his parents ringing in Gwi's ears. That's right, it was human who made his mother and father passed away.
It is still very clear how the hordes of humans suddenly came and attacked his parents while they were hunting in the forest in the form of their wolf. The men chased and hunted down their parents and then killed them in a cruel ways. They surrounded Gwi's parents and threw dozens of sharp spears that pierced through the bodies of his parents.
Gwi was able to survive because at that time he had been hidden by his parents in a valley that could not be entered by humans. From where he witnessed his parents being killed and then his body being thrown into the river that took them away to the ocean. From then on Gwi understood that what his parents said was true. And since then Gwi tried to always live as a human without showing the figure of his wolf form.
But right now, the boulders were getting closer. His friend was on the verge of death. This boy always came and treat the little werewolf kindly. He was the only human being who cared and wanted to feed him. Gwi did not want to let his human friend die horribly, crushed by a stone in front of him
Gwi made his final decision to save this human boy. He pushed the boy behind him and immediately put the stance against every stone that would hit his body. Gwi jumped high towards the rock and directly hit his fist with Full of force. Instantly the stone before him had broken and shattered into two pieces that rolled in the other direction. It hit the ground far from where the human boy was sitting in fear.
Gwi immediately approached his human friend and crouched down before him. The boy's eyes were still filled with a terrifying horror.
" You're not hurt, are you? Don't worry... Everything is fine now" Gwi tried to calm his friend and hold his shoulder. But the boy immediately dodged backwards and hit Gwi's hand hardly so he would not try to touch him. He looked at Gwi with a look full of fear. Honestly, the boy is no longer felt scared because of the stone ruins that almost took his life. But he was in a shock at having witnessed the little Gwi had just crushed a huge stone that was five times the size of his tiny body.
"mo... Mons.... Monster!!!!" The boy cried hysterically and immediately escaped himself from Gwi. He ran as fast as possible in order to be able to escape from Gwi which he considered as a frightening creature.
Gwi looked at the boy who ran away with a woeful stare. He felt disappointed and hurted. He thought he was finally able to meet someone who wanted to be his real friend. He had been felt lonely and wants to live like a common and normal human being. But apparently, when the boy saw the power that Gwi had, it is already made him leave the pitiful wolf alone.
Gwi cried in silence, he folded both of his knees and hid his face. He shouldn't believe in humans. Now his heart was completely broken because his hopes had simply been dashed. He cried alone in a dark cave.
Gwi continued to hide in the valley and didn't want to go anywhere. He has no destination nor a place to go home. Only the silence and coldness of the night weather in the valley which accompany him became his only faithful companion. Suddenly Gwi heard a commotion coming closer toward his direction. Hordes of humans carrying torches and sharp weapons appeared and surrounded the little Gwi. The wolf boy was terrified, he walked backwards slowly but his little body just crashed into the side of the valley wall.
"Is he the boy you're referring to?" asked a man while watching Gwi who was trembling in fear.
"Yes! That's the monster!" suddenly a young boy emerged from behind the body of the adult human entourage.
He was the boy whose Gwi rescued from the ruins of the previous rocks. Little Gwi looked at the friend who had betrayed him with a miserable eyes. His parents were right, Gwi should not show his true strength in front of humans, even if it was to save them. In the end, a weak man who fears his strength will come to harm him.
The villagers who surrounded Gwi began pelting the wolf boy with stones around them. The man threw a stone while saying a sentence that hurt the little boy's heart. They tried to drive Gwi out of his village. Gwi didn't understand, he had never done anything wrong or hurt them. But why are they do this kind of thing to him?
All of this time he had only lived alone in silence without disturbing them. But why did once they find out about Gwi's true potential strength, they were competing to hurt him? Though Gwi only uses his power to save the human boy who is he considered as his friend.
The rocks thrown towards Gwi's small body made his entire body bruised, he felt in pain. At that moment there was one of the humans who threw a stone of a handful of adult hands which then hit Gwi's head. Making the wolf boy's head shed a torrent of fresh blood.
Gwi felt that his head was starting to spin around, his head was dissing incrediblely. His gaze began to become blur, Gwi began to lose control over himself. At that moment slowly but surely Gwi's petite body began to change. His pale white skin turned into shiny black fur, the look in his eyes getting sharper. His fingernails and feet became stronger and burlier. Gwi had just turned into his wolf form.
The change in Gwi's body shape made the villagers immediately become terrified. They didn't expect that the boy before them was actually a werewolf. Gwi walked forward and sent out a threatening roar. The humans were frightened and began to retreat slowly after sensing the threat that was lurking them.
"Do... Don't be afraid! Attack and expel him. We have more people here!" said one of the man trying to restore the courage of his entourage. He took another chunk of rock and threw it again at Gwi.
Gwi has a higher power and dexterity in the form of his wolf. He was able to avoid the stone which thrown directed at him quickly. But still, the man continued to gang up on him with stone throws. Some of them started taking out their spears and attacking Gwi with their weapons. One of the spears injured Gwi's back and gave a wide torn wound, Gwi was groaning in pain.
It wasn't after he had gathered his strength to stand back up, the humans attacked again. They continued to hurt Gwi mercilessly. Gwi no longer wanted to stay there, in the end the wolf turned around and ran away leaving the humans who attacked him. Although Gwi had escaped, their cruelty didn't stop there. They continued to chase after Gwi and threw his spears. Gwi was seriously injured and ended up surrounded at the end of the cliff. Gwi looked around with his sharp eyes. The humans were getting closer, lucky that the wolf was able to climb the cliff wall quickly and escape from the mob's rampage.
After escaping, Gwi continued to run towards the forest. He ran as far as possible to hide himself. He continued to run until his body began to lose his strength due to the injuries and fatigue he felt. Slowly Gwi's body turned back into his human form. He snorted in pain and eventually lost consciousness in the middle of the forest alone.
